Hi, My name is Steve I have passed the first two parts of the process for C2C to become a depot driver, was supposed to have an interview before Xmas was told they were not holding any then told by someone else that they are starting Mon 25th just gone would you know if there are going to be any other starts soon ??

Hiya Dave,
Not doing too badly. Loving the course and just finished the 3 weeks of rules, so it's onto the traction training on Monday. Visited East Ham the week before last and had a nose around. Bit more substantial than S'Ness and quite an eye opener, but can't wait to start.

Cool so there is still some hope haha . Hopefully something comes of it , its so annoying being so close .

Hi mate ,
I see you wotk for c2c and was just wondering if you have heard of people being in the same situation as me before . I didnt get the job I finished 9th and there was a total of 8 positions . They said to keep in touch and if anything comes up im next on the list .Im starting to apply for other trainee roles when i see them but c2c is definitely my first choice .

Yep, had the medical on Friday and then went to C2C to sort out the paperwork. Good to hear the grapevine news and looking forward to it more than you can know

hi mate i got a medical for c2c and most likely be at east ham due to me being from east london but i wanted to know what are the wages because i didnt get a clear amount at the interview and is london waiting applied to us.

Excellent...thank you! May be a little wait now though. As I put on the C2C topic, they couldn't get a medical done this week...earliest would be the 19th/23rd December, so they're now looking at a January Start date.

Christmas/New Year at home and then into the job!

Cheers for that Dave! However many people are ahead in the line doesn't really bother me....had a hell of a job finding my way into a new career after leaving the Met and just overjoyed that not only have I got a job, but a bloody decent one with some good prospects ahead.

East Ham sounds like a great place and I think it'll be more sensible to go for the nearer depot. A 20-25 minute drive isn't bad, and lots of alternate routes if something goes belly up.

And those shifts sound decent as well. Although the 12am to 7pm one (19 hours) sounds harsh....only kidding, but considering I was used to routine shifts up to 12 hours (14-15 on forced overtime) at all hours, this sounds fantastic.

I'll think up some more questions I'm sure, but still waiting for the paperwork and date for the medical. It should be this week, and I'm meant to be starting training on the 15th.

Thanks for the message and the friend request. I would have sent you a private message, but I think you're under the post count to receive/send them.

I saw you were originally at East Ham. What's it like to work there, compared to other depots? I know that it's the maintenance depot, so presumably it could well be a lot busier than Shoeburyness?

I'm an ex police officer (for my sins...)so shift work is no problem whatsoever, but just so I have a heads up, what's the general shift pattern there?

C2C went to great lengths to make sure we understood that there is no fixed timeframe, but was yours a particularly fast progression, or just good timing with retirements/resignations etc?

Again, although getting to mainline is a nice goal for me I'm still happy as hell to be working in a career that'll (hopefully) be stable.
