Great British Railway Journeys Series 7

And I was cursing my recorder.. Especially as it failed with Pointless as well.

    Inter-Rail 2016

Yes the "free journey" is valid to the UK "port", so St Pancras is ok. There are no time restrictions. Free journies applies only to Global InterRails, NOT One-Country passes.

    Exchanges on Eurostar

Names are not checked on Eurostar tickets against passports. Names are just for the reference of the issuer. However FIP card numbers are placed in the booking, but do not show on the ticket

No more DB for staff travel ?

Perhaps they will employ all the staff from Rail Europe or Voyages SNCF when they close at the end of the year.

Excellent, can they do FIP tickets across Poland & Czech Republic?

Passengers - would you report a fare dodger?

Even better is that when a member of staff is dismissed for "poor time-keeping" when they travel to work by their own TOC.

Why can't people buy train tickets at newsagents?

A friend of mine owns a Travel Agency and applied to become a "BR" agent. ATOC advised that they needed a "bond" of £30K and then needed to generate £25k worth of "new business" annually. To apply for the license they would also have to pay £250 up front before consideration, which was...

I only pointed out to the person, that if they were caught using a "Leisure" pass then they will lose ALL travel facilities, including "Staff Travel Card".

    Frankfurt - things to do

Hotel Excelsior, which is directly opposite the station (exit right from the platform end). Free mini-bar (including 1 beer) in April. Worth going over to the "old Town", plenty of excellent restaurants and beer houses!!

Passengers - would you report a fare dodger?

When I was employed by ATOC as an auditor, I had no problems in proving that the 24 members of staff in London & South East that were proven to be undertaking credit-card fraud, therefore stealing from credit car companies. I think that the total amount of fraud by these (ex) members of staff...

Passengers - would you report a fare dodger?

Correct Jon. This person is abusing the facilities that all rail-workers are entitled too. In the past, ticket inspectors would follow any suspect to their place of work and establish the facts, before taking the matter further and the miscreany having their facilities removed. I have now...

Passengers - would you report a fare dodger?

I would, and have. Surprisingly nothing has been done about it. A person that I know regularly travels between 2 stations in Kent on her "partners" staff travel card. She travels from home to her place of employment. She has been doing this for about 6 years. It has been reported to...
