The reason the Approach Control is on is because the signal reverts to danger/randomly changes aspects then the drivers are approaching. WM116 on the UF is the same.
There is random electrical interference that causes the Datalink issue. The technicians have been working to find where that is...
Yeah that’s not the reason that the wash road can’t be accessed. In fact we have been turning back on 21 Road, we just can’t use it to go further along it through the train wash into depot.
The Carriage Wash Road at Stonebridge Park has unavailable since the start of the year for reasons I’m not prepared to share. But it should be available again in the near future so hopefully the outside will get a clean up at least. The interior state of these trains is a disgrace.
All signalling lost at Hanslope Junction earlier. Back on now, but obviously a lot of crew displacement. Apparently the 20:12 is resourced so hopefully will run. Your ticket for the cancelled 19:37 will be valid.
Not quite the same, but on the Bicester to Oxford single line there was a camera that turned on when a train was arriving onto the Track Circuit at Oxford North. The Oxford signaller could observe the tail lamp and then press the button to clear the block. If we missed the tail lamp, we’d have...
Fat chance of that. Trying to get a cab ride is hard these days. The cab pass is only officially valid with a travel ticket. I used to enjoy cab rides on the Western Route when I was over there.
Sorry, to clarify, I thought every PSR at a diverging route had a warning board. I know from cab rides along the Berks and Hants that not all plain line PSRs have warning boards.
A set of points south of the station is preventing access to Platform 4 at Tring. They were damaged in the possession at the weekend. The slow lines are open though so don’t know why the Manchester trains are cancelled.
The opposite happens at Harrow and Wealdstone. If we run a train Fast Line from Euston, with the intention of crossing At Willesden North, the CIS at Harrow updates at the signal approaching Willesden North. So there will be a platform alteration displayed at Harrow. If the train does cross to...
Signallers in England and Wales get 300% or 200% plus Comp Day. Scotland is 250% or 150% plus comp day. If it’s a rest day work then add 25% to the above. Signallers will normally be expected to work if it is their booked shift and they are required in. That said, where I work there will...
I can’t talk about crew competency, but all trains go over all routes between Camden and Euston. Can you imagine the confusion or disruption if Avanti, for instance, could not run Slow Line from Willesden to Euston? Or cross the station throat from platform 1-7 to the Down Fast if Line X was out...
