No branding now, everything is called Vectis Blue. Most Vectis Blue vehicles will be either parked at Ryde Depot or at a private site near Newport.
When rail replacement does happen, Vectis Blue Coaches are usually used.
Hi Guys,
Thank you for your comments and replies. As someone who is involved in the organising of the event from a vehicle allocation point of view I thought I’d clear a few things up.
Firstly, the organisers are so frustrated with the ferry events on Friday night which messed up our plans to...
Yes, 1523 worked two round trips on route G on the Sunday of beer and buses weekend, substituting for a poorly CDL899. Only a few blue e400s are fitted with ticket machines for service work, you probably won’t red pen the non ticket machine ones like 1523 unless at a bus rally.
Hello everyone. It's almost that time of year again, just three weeks to go until this years event. This year we have an even bigger network of routes running more frequently across the Isle of Wight linking real ale establishments. Improvements for this year include six buses an hour Newport to...
I’ve just returned from 5 days in Hungary. Plenty of loco hauled action. On a weekday, almost every local, semi fast and IC service between Nyugati and Kobanya Kispest & Ferihegy will be loco hauled. There are also 50% of services on the line to Vac will be hauled. Most local services out of...
I enjoyed an overland trip to Copenhagen (and onwards to Helsinki via Bergen) last summer. We took the Hook ferry and overnighted in Hamburg before going via Puttgarden. An enjoyable trip if you have the time to spare.
Thanks, I've joined the HunRail group where the diagrams are uploaded. Finally, I see a bkk map showing the Budapest travel card zone limits. Are you able to use all MAV trains within this boundry for short leaps?
Hi,
I am looking at taking a long weekend trip put to Budapest. Does anyone have the diagrams for the Deisel hauled M41 turns from Budapest Nuygati to lajosmizse? Are the loco hauled trains M-F or do they work weekends?
Thanks
Hello everyone. It's almost that time of year again! This year we have an even bigger network of routes running more frequently across the Isle of Wight linking real ale establishments. We have just short of 100 vintage vehicles operating in service from our bus stations at Newport Quay and Ryde...
I would almost always take an earlier train & ferry if using an advance ticket in case there was some kind of farce with the train missing the ferry at pier head or the boat missing the connection the other side. You won't have any reservations for the island line or ferry.
Just to let you know that Southern Vectis will be using its Bristol K on normal route 3 journeys between Shanklin rail station and Ventnor on Monday 29th August. This is a rare chance to travel on this bus on normal service before the DDA kicks in. Normal fares rovers and concessionary passes...
I've done this on this exact journey. I tried to pick up from the TVM in Venice and it didn't work so I queued up at the ticket office and they printed it off for me on normal ticket stock no problem
