According to my Intercity stock book r/3 is on the Downpatrick and County Down railway in their museum at Downpatrick. Suggest checking on their website for open/ running days. Found it a friendly place to visit.
I was on that train. The staff dealing with the passengers were polite and helpful and kept us informedeven when we had to have an extra stop in Manchester Victoria for a medical emergency for nearly an hour.
No, the trainn wasnt full by any means, ertainly not the standard of first class...
Have been informed by WestCoast Railways that Pendle Dalesmen is running with different route, Northwards over Shap to Carlisle and returning via Cumbrian Coast. As I've not done part of the Cumbrian coast line before maybe not so bad after all.:D Wife still not happy about the very early start...
Woops. Son's Christmas present was for wife and self to go on 'The Pendle Dalesman' next wednesday. Was looking forward to steam hauled over the Settle Carlisle line.
According to a Letter from Network Rail to houses in the area , they are replacing life expired track between Polesworth and Tamworth from 16th January to 11th March, midweek from 9 pm to 7 am ,Saturday 10 pm to 7 am.

I remember using the service back in the late '70's from Birmingham International to Inverness. Return journey was interesting as a 47 had jumped the points at Bushbury Jct so the train was divereted through Wolverhampton Station then onto Bescot and normal route. I do remember that when I rove...
True but Harworth Estates do own the site since July2013.
This is their second application for planning permission for the site, the first was withdrawn before North Warwickshire Borough Council made a decision. There is plenty of local opposition to the redevelopment , HGV 's going through...

As the A5 is closed most nights with major roadworks in the Hinckley Area, and the 'long load' rest area at junction 10 A42 closed for some building work on motorway below, avoiding the A5 is rather sensible.
No. BBC have got it right. Travel news says' trains not stopping on LM Southbound at Atherstone due to overhead line problems at Nuneaton'. The Up lines seems to be closed as all traffic is using the down lines,so the bidi is in use with lower speeds from Amington Junction through and beyond...
