To be fair, the 3 58 plate e400s that are in use have been out all day today, they seem to be more reliable than they were at least.
Looks as though the 15.30 route 20 did not run today, the 16.30 ran so late it only went as far as Chaddesden. A 21 ran back empty via pride park, so lots of...
Delays on the A38, and x38 continue to cause disruption to the 20/21 which interworks with it.
20/21 often get cancelled, run very late or only cover part of the route to make up time, rendering it pretty unusable. Assume some now get Trent Barton (indigo/i4) and walk from the main road.
They...
Used route 20/1 in Derby yesterday. Trip on 20 completely cancelled due to bus arriving in late off x38. Following 21 delayed by 15 minutes. The waiting passengers seemed unfazed, saying it's always like this now.
What was recently a 15 minute service now runs every 30 or less. I would suggest...
Seems there is a reduced service offering on at least the mickleover, allestree and swift today. All three routes have received funding to enhance the frequency from one place or another, funding which could arguably have been allocated in a better way. What is the point in funding a service...
Are any new buses on order for the Midlands area?
Vdl repaints appear to have stopped or paused at Derby. Perhaps not all will stay in the longer term now.
The additional e400s seem quite unreliable, to the point that vdls still appear on decker routes despite having 3 additional deckers to...
Yes believe that 4216 and 4221 are the only two Derby Geminis withdrawn, both due to them being unviable to repair.
The 4 or 5 ex Yorkshire e400s seem quite unreliable, seem to struggle to put all deckers out on the decker routes most days.
Despite some of the Vdl saloons being a bit rough...
Yes that is the problem, what is a sufficient number of spares on paper, doesn't match the reality. However when such a large amount of services are being dropped, surely something should be done even as a short term measure?
Making sure you have enough vehicles to run your services is part and...
Fully agree with that as a reason, but it is predictable and not an excuse for not running services.
They are geared up for running a fairly new fleet, and there was a gap of investment during covid leading to them having an older fleet than they are used to.
If they need more spare buses...
The bigger question is why do Trent not use notts and derby buses during the day when they are so short of buses? Surely that would be better than missing services out? They used to do this alot years ago, but seems very rare now for some reason - however it has still happened on the odd...
The hospital must have paid a fair sum for the temporary car park and shuttle. Despite still being advertised as a 20 minute service, as it was initially when it used one of the minibuses, much of the time there has been a 10 minute service using 2 full size buses.
It is a shame some services are quite consistently unreliable, especially the sixes 6.2, which when missed out not only means no service on at least part of the Belper to Ripley section, but also leaves a noticeable gap in the frequency main Derby to Belper corridor. Trent portray a good image...
They should have them on the road really. Looks like quite a few services were dropped by Derby today. 6.2 didn't seem to run much, as often seems to be the case. Mickleovers had quite a few cancelled trips too.
