4 new custom Dennings in diamond livery are currently parked in a yard in Ilkeston, on the corner of Quarry Hill Rd and Merlin Way. One passed through Spondon yesterday on trade plates. This may be the new Custom Denning base?
Surprised 107/8 aren't at Derby to cover for 314/5 which are off fairly long term after being involved in accidents. Instead there seems to be no cover, resulting in an inevitable shortage of vehicles and missing services every day.
Are the sixes Volvo's proving more reliable than the Versas?
Surprised the Evora isn't being trialled on Swift. Aren't they short of a branded spare for that route? What does the branded comet Volvo do when the Evora is out in service in its place, seeing as it's branded livery prevents it being used on other services
I believe the Nottingham uni hopper bus services that Arriva Derby operate are currently out for tender, so there may be a different operator and or vehicles on it from September.
I believe the tender prohibits them from using the branded buses on other services, perhaps within a certain radius...
The 5th bus missing all day though, which is poor. I'm not saying it is any individuals fault, I think everyone is doing the best they can with what they have, but there is something fundamentally wrong somewhere if there are not enough buses to cover the services on a regular basis.
True, but maintaining reliability with the current timetable seems to be proving difficult. Adding a 6th bus is a huge cost. Buses being cancelled all the time will also result in fewer people using the services. Only 4 buses on the villager all day today, and likely other cancellations too.
Could reduce the villager to hourly between Tutbury and Burton, that section is over served as you say. That would also allow for a more realistic timetable to be introduced, so buses are not constantly running late, or missing trips to make up time.
My point about the x38 serving Stretton is...
Yes, I'm just surprised the spare for red arrow wasn't grey like 910 so that they had 2 versatile spares that could be used on Flixbus or red arrow.
There are pros and cons to branding.

Re x38 changes. Seems odd to remove Stretton deviation on pre midnight trips but retain the post...
I believe 30988 is currently withdrawn. If I remember correctly 30986 was sold, to an agricultural company around Kent? It may be in used on private land and not registered
Diamond did manage to sell one of the shorter scanias. They all seem reliable and well used, so maybe although they are for sale, they may not be desperate to get rid of them.
Not sure that the problem is the expense of parts, more the availablity of them.
They certainly are a higher spec...
Would make sense to make comet part of the nines brand really. Huge amount of layover time at Derby as it takes just over an hour each way.
If merging the Harlequin and V3, which brand would you get rid of? Every 30 to Willington, hourly to Burton.
They were lucky if they were, as it looks like 491 never made it to Bakewell. 492 was on the following 6.1. Hopefully the refurbished Volvo's will improve reliability.
Quick look on bus times suggests the road was reopened in Newton so all V3 yesterday resumed the normal route. Would assume works are finished, or they have just removed the closures for Easter.
329 was on x38 at about that time, was that the bus you saw in Clay Mills?
Assume data issue with...
