Thought I’d create a thread to share opinions on the ugliest liveries. For starters, I think that the Ipswich Buses livery is awful. The purple and green colours really don’t go together.

The only info carried on a duty card that is considered ‘classified’ is phone numbers and the driver’s meal break times (on cards that are driver based).

In Oldbury, the toilet facilities etc have been closed and drivers have caught buses back to West Bromwich where there are toilet and hand washing facilities.

There’s still one on Dudley Road in Wolverhampton that is now used by Travel Express.

The toilets are on the other side of the car park, away from the stands. The snack bar is still there and there’s 3 shelters. Nice to grab a 99’ whilst waiting for the bus!

Darlaston Bus Station is a collection of a few stands. I wouldn’t call it a bus station, as it is just a row of stops on each site of the road. Most people refer to is as ‘Darlaston Asda’ stop.

I find the toll a bit of a waste really. It was built to relieve congestion on the M6, but is never used to that purpose. If traffic was divided between the M6 and the toll, the M6 wouldn’t be as busy.

Market Drayton bus station only has 3 DIRO stands and a shelter.

There is the NX agents website that did list withdrawn routes along with the existing ones, but it isn’t showing anything until services resume. They may have updated it when it goes live again so these routes may not appear. It is a very good website. You can find timetables and driver fare...

You have to zoom in to see more stops. There are stops between Manchester and Glasgow at Preston, Blackpool, Carlisle to name but a few. West of Birmingham, there are stops at Dudley, Wolverhampton, Telford, Shrewsbury and all through Mid Wales to Aberystwyth. It is evident that the NX network...

My 409 goes up to the M6 & then uses the expressway into Digbeth.

I suppose it makes sense to, if there’s disruption on the M6. However, in normal circumstances, it’s just an extra cost that the company doesn’t need. There are plenty services that go down the M6 as I see them all the time. Not sure how driver’s would pay for the toll either, unless they...

How unusual! Never heard of a scheduled coach service using the toll. It’s about £10-12 for a coach, so quite expensive! I always avoid the toll if I can, instead using the A5.

I think it all depends on where you are and how big/busy the place is and whether there are any accidents, roadworks etc that could delay the service. Last time I used NX, the coach went via the M4 and M25 to get onto the M40. I’m not 100% sure. There are variations, as some services go...

NX/Megabus don’t have specified routes that drivers must take. As long as they serve the timetabled stops, they can take any reasonable route. For example, the 343 (when it used to run) would either go along Hagley Road, Bristol Road or Pershore Road into/out of Birmingham.

The 409 is the only coach service to serve Mid Wales.
