If the train is more than half empty, I consider it incredibly rude for someone to sit next to me, and unacceptable for a man to do it. If they do, I will make a point of getting up and moving. Same on Thameslink 700s.I try to go for the single seat at the table in a group of 3 at the very back...

Well 700/1s can’t use platforms 9-11 at KGX and can only use 1, 7 and 8 at CBG. And they’re needed for Brighton services. So the potential for them to be emergency replacements for the fasts is low even if they’re part of the same franchise.

The semi fasts will all eventually be 700/1s via the core (Brighton services). Seems unlikely the stock could be used to run KGX-CBG expresses.

Do this. Every weekend service I’ve used from KGX to CBG ever since they slashed the service frequency in May has been nose to armpit. They are utterly grim.

Trickier. The 387s have power sockets in standard which the 700s don’t. However, I often go to Westminster which is a few stops from Blackfriars on the well ventilated district line vs using the emphysema inducing Victoria line from KGX, so it gets a bit more awkward. I could live without a...

I will take an STP to CBG service in preference to a KGX one because the 700s offer a smoother ride than the electrostars and I will get a table to myself by sitting in rear 1st.

It's the principle. They had the nerve to put prices up while *still* running an emergency timetable, £2 is £2, and anyway, if I wanted the more expensive one i'd have to talk to a human and I dislike that.

London Terminals tickets are cheaper, and since that's what the machine vends when I ask for a BFR ticket, that's what I'll use!
