Companies That You Expect to Disappear Soon

I wasnt particularly fussed about Smiths until I went on a trip without a charger adapter for my phone. £2.99 in most places, £19.99 in Smiths. Then theres Boots, flogging £1.99 shampoo in hospital outlets for £8.99. Utterly vile companies.

    Toton withdrawn class 60s

What did DB think they wanted with them? To park them up in a siding having spent £10m on ten locos to sit about doing nothing? Im afraid your outlook and understanding of cold, hard business is naive in the extreme.

    Toton withdrawn class 60s

    How to afford to train?

It depends how much you want it really. When I joined the railway I had to wait 8 years before even commencing my driver training. This on crap pay, with a mortgage and a wife. Yes, times were tough usually but in the end it was worth the aggravation.

GB Railfreight in 'locomotive acquisition' talks

He's suggesting that the choices are simple: either the 56s went for scrap or someone brave could invest and have them re-engineered. The latter is of course taking place, and im afraid for all the wibblers on here once done they'll neither sound like a 56 nor look like a 56 (new cabs are...

Qualified driver moving to Australia or New Zealand

It doesn't have to be on the skill set list - it wasnt when I got offered a job. Its got around by a special 'sponsored visa', after 2 years (as was) you can apply for permanent residency.

Aurizon in Geraldton WA were taking large amounts of drivers a few years ago, I nearly followed my mate over there. Apparently, all is not as rosy as its made out to be though.
