That environmental manager role on there that just takes you to a page error has been on there for months, how come no one at Metrolink HR has noticed?!

I
Not with an attitude like that, no! (Metrolink may well look at the forum and if their first impression of you is this...)

I certainly didn’t mean to display any attitude, I have emailed them about the error but it’s still there... :-/

Agree, it's not good.

The manners shown here are sadly lacking.

Ordinary I'd agree with you but having dealt with them every day for many years, unusually, I agree - they are sloppy, and do deserve criticism, especially given the judge's comments about them in a recent court case. (RCoJ, Morris v Metrolink, 38.2) http://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWCA/Civ/2018/1358.html

If that were my experience I certainly wouldn't want to be applying for a job with them, unless I thought I could miraculously turn around the company! If this is the impression they give to outsiders, who knows what their employees feel like.

The job, the employees, and the company should be seen in isolation from the HR unit, inherited and unchanged from the previous operator. HR are the laughing stock after that tribunal and a number of other high profile incidents... one of the best examples - 7 staff were dismissed for (expired) convictions on their CRB/DBS check. The rules were then miraculously changed by HR to allow a relative of two managers to be employed, who had convictions from just a couple of years earlier. That small, embarrassing, three-person department should not put anyone off applying for a great career at Metrolink.

Thanks for the clarification! I thought your earlier post meant the whole company was bad, not just the HR department. Disappointing but not surprising, really.
