    DRS to sell heritage locomotives

703 is owned by DRS and not preserved, hence its on the tender list. Also doubt ROG will be in the market for anything as they are letting staff go.

BLS The Wirral Squirrel- TNT Class 40's 3/10/21

There's a thing called VSTP. That sorts a path PDQ. However, a driver is more difficult, not that you need a 40 driver as they could tow it using a traction unit they did sign. I asked if someone was playing games - the question hence stands.

    Freightliner - Eastleigh Drivers

Because the hours are long, the start and finish times are poor and they pay the smallest salary in the industry (freight). See post 2 above.

Class 701 'Aventra' trains for South Western Railway: progress updates

006 was the one at Feltham. 030 now at Wimbledon. I did observe two halves of a set shunting about independently earlier at Wimbledon - wasn't aware that could be done!

    Freightliner - Eastleigh Drivers

    Accident on NYMR, 21-9-21

Looks buffer locked, but it could be a dodgy track joint I guess.

D1015 suffers engine problems during test run for mainline return.

The one that siezed IS the new engine I believe. Sad for the DTG.

How can passengers be attracted to return to rail?

I've got an idea, join it all back together and call it something like British Railways. Use a scythe and weed out all of the repetitive 'management', and only hire chief execs with proven records in the rail industry. Unify the timetable, provide enough comfortable and pleasant coaches and drop...

    Caledonian Sleeper

I was planning an expensive family trip to Scotland and back to try out the new service last month. Never happened due to a variety of reasons but the more I look at this thread to more happy I am to have missed it!

Just like the lucky dip at the funfair then!

None of that is available to the staff to buy so perhaps it's better value than you think! Not my kind of thing, which is why I didn't bother buying one.

GBRf Rail Tour 2021: This time it's personal

Not quite correct - the charity benefitting from monies raised on the train will be for prostate Cancer. One of the main planners of the trains is currently receiving treatment for that illness, hence the chosen charity. Not sure he'd appreciate being assumed dead just yet as he's very much...

GBRf Rail Tour 2021: This time it's personal

Wouldn't be the first time the rolling stock provider has been somewhat 'cavalier' in train preparation.

It isn't, and I very much doubt its Norovirus
