    Cameras in the driving cab

The individual can make the decision to say it is too hot to drive and make the choice to decline to continue. Safety critical duties can/are affected by fatigue/dehydration and what are considered excessive temperatures (being hot or cold).

WMR Class 196 Build and Implementation

The colour of the uniform doesn't necessarily denote 'ownership' of the depot. From memory Coventry Guards used to be the green team for accounting purposes, whilst the drivers were the orange team. The uniform was solely allocated to staff on the split of work at the depot at the time of the...

WMR Class 196 Build and Implementation

It's only like changing ends at Leamington as currently happens. No issues with that, Nuneaton is the more problematic location due to lack of pointwork on the WCML or the service would have to have the reinstatement of the under bridge south of Nuneaton on the WCML. I would suggest this...

WMR Class 196 Build and Implementation

I don't believe that Coventry train crew work will be as you've described, but most likely concentrated on WMR routes. Birmingham New Street signs all Coventry work except for Leamington - Nuneaton and Coventry Yard/s. My understanding is that Coventry depot will sign the class 196 and the...

WMR Class 196 Build and Implementation

    Class 350 DOO

I can only disagree with you on the point regarding sightlines, it does however make the cab a more claustrophobic experience, but one that I am now getting used to. The equipment would not have been fitted if it did effect sightlines (it has to be inspected and agreed). Regarding the reflection...

    Class 350 DOO

The Xmas tree is now above the new equipment. From memory it's been condensed somewhat. As for twisting, I really don't know. As having the additional equipment in the cab takes some getting used to by itself.

    Class 350 DOO

The newly installed equipment cannot block any part of the windscreen from the drivers viewpoint (and it doesn't).

Services Suspended between Nuneaton and Leamington Spa from 27/12/21.

I had the Network Rail camera equipment in my train cab (this was when class 153s did the work), which I believe was to enable computer simulations for the works. A member of staff who is familiar with the project told me the date and what works were supposed to be happening. From what I...

Services Suspended between Nuneaton and Leamington Spa from 27/12/21.

I believe it is supposed to be redoubled, last I heard it was due to open on the same date as HS2. (This information is around 3 years old though, so things may have changed)

Train walk round unnecessary waste of time ?

So, the train is stabled at a remote location, no security etc. Local vandals decide to open a few panels. Driver jumps in, off they go. First platform rips said panels off or slices someone. Sounds risky to me....
