    Drivers v Signallers

The last time I had a signaller cab ride with me was a few years ago. Whilst happily going along the route (on a fast section of single line, where the route undulates-we nickname it the rollercoaster) the signal ahead reverted to danger, where I proceeded to go passed the signal at around 60mph...

    Class 730 LNR & WMR Delivery/test Updates

Don't quote me on this, but I believe where a 323 reaches 60mph a 730 is doing something like 72mph.

WMR Class 196 Build and Implementation

The default mode as listed in the traction manual is not 'eco', but they're currently running in this mode, which I think makes them slower than a class 172. This may be to do with something to do with the transmission, conversely it may not be the case....

WMR Class 196 Build and Implementation

The last I heard the Leamington - Nuneaton service was having a mix of 196s (weekdays) and 172s (weekends). Although I don't know if this idea has changed recently.

Chiltern Railways - Apprentice Train Drivers - Multiple Locations (26/01/23)

My partner did the all the OPC assessments in one day, including the MMI. It was a very long and mentally draining day...... So, my advice is to try and prepare for the length of day as well.

WMR Class 196 Build and Implementation

WMT were looking at having track based equipment fitted to their entire network, what happened to this I don't know. I suspect who controls the doors has stopped installation of the equipment as I'm sure there would be a cost to the business that isn't needed due to guard dispatch continuing.

There is one driver from Coventry and Leamington on each training course plus there is also a guards training course running currently. 1678988289 The class 196 uses Glonass and has a back up of wheel rotation.

    Class 730 LNR & WMR Delivery/test Updates

I would think so. The units have 2+2 seating and as such are built for the sort of passenger traffic on the route. Not too many years ago the route was worked by class 323s.
