Altered WTT schedule on mid-Cheshire line

There is a points failure affecting the single line section between Stockport and Navigation Road, this is causing delays to trains in the Chester direction and Northern seem to have input revised schedules to take this input account. This is only showing on RTT (and TRUST internally), it has...

Storm to close line at Dawlish evening 23rd to Saturday afternoon (and beyond)

There was a points failure at Exeter, this resulted in an additional call at Dawlish Warren on the first passenger train this morning. This failure prevented all services departing Exeter towards Newton Abbot, and was resolved around 10am to allow the two Plymouth trains to depart.

No trains at Dronfield have a platform number assigned, and the presence of times in the GBTT columns indicates it is a public stop.

    Mileages - What's Correct?

This is correct as per the Sectional Appendix for the route via Weedon and Norton Bridge. The OP seems to have unticked (or not ticked) the tick box for using the mileage algorithm as journey searching on Railmiles. This has resulted in the route being given via various depots and goods line in...

    Mileages - What's Correct?

Also routed via Searchlight Lane Jun, which is shorter than via Norton Bridge (the route the fast lines and up slow takes).

Avanti West Coast via Settle (for WCML Bridge replacement next January?)

The curve between Farington and Lostock in both directions isnt a standard speed differential, the lower speed (10mph) applies to passenger trains with the higher speed for everything else (25mph).

December 2025 Timetable Change - Confirmed changes only

I suspect this is to do with Transpennine Route Upgrade work in the Huddersfield area. Monday to Thursday evenings the Long Term Plan has buses only after 2300 at Huddersfield. Northern should really be publishing this though.

How to deal with a TOC that won't engage with you? - Platform alterations at Leyland station

FGW HSS stations with Phil and Celia had noise sensors which operated similar to this. They had varying success across the network, Plymouth was a right mixed bag, Platforms 3 and 4 had a fault on the circuit which meant the volume was always the lowest but still increased somewhat, Platforms 5...

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

The logged time was a manual report, unfortunately just one of those things that happens in error, especially in disruption. The line code at Kettering North Junction however gives an indication of the route taken.

Stops omitted on Exeter - Waterloo service today

MFL is the booked line code after Clapham not the platform at Clapham. RTT shows it went through platform 7: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:L47572/2025-12-04/detailed#allox_id=1

December 2025 Timetable Change - Confirmed changes only

Neither are new. The former is already done by a small number of trains between Peterborough and Lincoln. The latter is already done by the hourly train from Glenrothes to Leven.

Half a train of First Class? - EMR 222103

You can also identify the declassified seats by the red background on the seat number at top of the seat. The first class seats have a blue background.

    Speed limits through Rugby station

No, however its still out of date, not for the specific question by the OP but they may then want to look elsewhere and so I think its important to mention.

    Speed limits through Rugby station

Slightly out of date however! ;)

How do they know the platform number before I do?

Black (or Red if its an alteration to the planned platform) means the headcode for that train has been input into the train describer berth for that platform. This typically won't happen until the train has arrived or is arriving. A black platform number for a train that says 'Starts here' has...

    Christmas Eve disruption on Cross-Country?

Only if you select the "CAN" option: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/detailed/gb-nr:OXF/to/gb-nr:DBY/2025-12-24/0200-0159?stp=WVSC&show=all&order=wtt As you can see from the link all trains from Oxford going to Derby are marked as cancelled (CAN) on 24/12/25 (the date the OP was...
