Milton Keynes to Clapham/Croydon - Southern Service.

What exactly is happening with this service? Does it still run 7 days a week? I have noticed that the service does not seem to run past Clapham Junction when it does run. What is the future like for this service given that there has been much speculation over its operation?

    DLR original stations

I was wondering how they became so long, that makes sense and it must have been done over a period of time as each station was rebuilt/refurbished. A shame they did not keep them for the other areas of the line

    DLR original stations

Apologies I have edited the question as I was not specific enough. I meant the STATION name roundels as seen on underground, overground, and now slowly appearing on crossrail stations. The DLR does not use these

    LU stock refurbishments 1990 - 2000

Between 1990 and 2000, the A60, C69, 67, 72, 73 were all refurbished, however, did refurbished examples ever run with non refurbished examples and if not, why was this not possible given that on National Rail, this happens all the time.

    DLR original stations

Of the original DLR stations which opened in the late 80s: 1. How many retain the original half-cylindrical glazed blue canopies with red railings and when was the latest examples of these shelters being removed? 2. Were these canopies ever extended? Looking at pictures from the 80s, there were...

Greater Anglia. Why the need for 745s and 720s

i wonder why no other operator has gone for 745s or equivalent? I am presuming they can run at 125mph if this was required?

    Delays due to "train cancellations"

you would have thought that in order to compensate for customers west of rayners lane, that they would extend the Rayners lane reversers to Uxbridge in order to provide a 10 min service, rather than a 20 min service, which isn't great

Greater Anglia. Why the need for 745s and 720s

So Greater Anglia ordered two different train types for both their intercity and suburban services. What was the point in this given both have the same top speed? Surely you could have just ordered the same stock but with the intercity ones having just one door and suburban ones having 2 doors...

    Delays due to "train cancellations"

Correct me if I am wrong but it says that the piccadilly line is only closed from south harrow to Uxbridge between 7pm and 9pm over the weekend each day. Strange how it's only 2 hours which are an issue. Will all Rayner's lane terminators be extended to go to Uxbridge?

    Croydon Tramlink contrast photos

Does anyone have any pics or a link to a website which shows a direct comparison of various areas of croydon before tramlink was built and after? E.g. I Have seen one pic which shows the exact same view of the approach to East Croydon in the 1980s and then another which shows how it looked...

Met Line fasts stopping at Wembley Park

Judging by what you have said, it seems that 4 car trains never ran beyond baker Street i.e any aldgate bound train were always 8 car. Unless 4 car trains have travelled to the city in those days? Did all platforms have 4 and 8 car stopping markers back in those days? Did 4 car trains stop...

Met Line fasts stopping at Wembley Park

This doesn't sound like good news, infact it sounds like a step backwards. Northbound fast trains are likely to catch up with the previous local, causing delays? Why did the rule change all of a sudden to make the south junction also out of use? Aren't the junctions due for some major upgrades...

Met Line fasts stopping at Wembley Park

What exactly was the peak hour time timetable in the 70s and did you ever have a mix of 4 and 8 car trains operating on the line? Does anyone anticipate off peak fast/semi fasts returning one day? 1617322574

    TfL night time service ideas

I doubt the District/Met would gain night tube services that far west, think its more likely met line services will be run Harrow - Aldgate or Uxbridge - Baker Street/Wembley Park (as the Jubilee already covers the section south of there to Baker st and you'd expect the Circle/HC to cover the...

22nd February - Roadmap out of the pandemic, lifting of restrictions.

Forgive me if this has already been discussed somewhere in the forum. I am definitely very eager to return back to a complete pre march 2020 lifestyle and can't wait for lockdown to be ended. On saying that I am under no illusion that it should be lifted early. My question is that have...

Freight diagrams over principal Main lines which have 4 tracks

Question to those who know about freight diagrams, in particular the lines they travel on where the route has both slow and fast lines. I usually note the following where there are 4 tracks (unless exception ofcourse): WCML - Freight travels on the slow lines (on the right hand side lines in...
