Putting lots of info on a single ticket is great but not for those with a visual disability or sight problem who would struggle reading the smaller text, such as the seat reservation details. I hope the designers have given this consideration.
Any idea when this is likely to be rolled out...
Wine is available from 1700 at Paddington, a nice way to start a FGW journey given complimentary wine is no longer offered on board. I find the lounge has the best selection of complimentary snacks of all the equivalent London terminal lounges. Always pop in before getting the dreaded Henley...
Received an email from East Midlands Trains today offering £10 off a journey if booked by Fri. Seems this time a unique code must be entered. Anybody received a similar email? May be worth checking your mailbox folders.
You've got to be kidding! Whilst an unavoidable situation, info was non-existent for 45 mins amongst the throng outside. Even loudspeakers would have sufficed but we heard nothing. Some disabled people seemed to have been abandoned and left to fend for themselves. At 1800, I gave up and...
I don't understand why so many criticise XC Fist Class on here. Ok, it's only 1 carriage on the Voyager but even in the AM peak I always manage to find a seat, which is comfortable. As its not a London-centric operation plus short interval stops, the food offering is a bonus. In fact I'd go...
There is also a One Day Off Peak Travelcard that is particularly useful in that return travel is valid in the PM peak. Split ticketing means you're restricted the often overcrowded semi-fast and not able to travel on the express HST.
The NE-SW XC services have around 15 mins dwell time at New St, so manage to recoup most of the delay. Problem is that the NE-Readings only have 5 mins to reverse at New St, meaning every service is at least 20 late by Oxford after following Chiltern/FGW. XC should amend the timings for the...
Had the same problem a number of times recently when collecting multiple tickets booked under 1 reference on RSH. Had to call them and they confirmed ticket hadn't printed, providing another reference. I used an EMT collection-only machine at St Pancras, where 1 ticket didn't print. Then...
Too late...offers like this go viral after being posted on HUKD!
"This promotion is currently on hold due to an abnormally high level of traffic, we are currently investigating and will update the page shortly."
Do you have a link to the Student Moneysaver article for details on how to redeem this offer? I take it this code isn't unique to one individual?
Got my £9.50 eVoucher from the Sun promo today.
EDIT: just saw HUKD link. Seems a longer process than the Sun promo, having to wait 2 days for...
Delays further north meant southbound XC services were already ~30 late by Sheffield. The SW services presently stand at BHM for 25 mins so absorb some delay. The real test will come on Mon when XC reverts to normal route - the Newcastle-Reading xx33 only has 5 mins for reversal at BHM.
I was advised at Euston today when collecting my voucher that until 17 March (when lounge reopens), 1st Advance ticket holders travelling with VT can travel on a service up to 2 hours before their booked departure. Lounge staff stamp the ticket so one assumes all TMs are aware of this...
Just as an aside, can I get loyalty points for booking rail tickets with RSH? If so, how do the points conversion work, and do I have to register separately for this? Thanks.
I was at Coventry yesterday morning and was told of this potentially fatal incident by rail staff. The 0750 LM Northampton-Birmingham pulls into platform 3. A man dashes off the train having stolen a passenger's Samsung phone. He then jumps onto the tracks between platforms 1-2, just as the...
I've had breakfast numerous times on the Milton Keynes to Coventry route without issue, a journey time of 25-30 mins. Mind you, the walk-on First fares for that journey are significantly higher than Manchester to Stoke. Northbound customers on your journey aren't entitled to complimentary...
My Glasgow service from Euston on Mon morning was diverted via Stoke and then crawled to Crewe behind a stopping service. Resulted in a 30 delay. On my return a few hrs later, the VT from Crewe ran to time. Staff said the problem on Mon was different to that causing disruption on Sun.
Do...
A selection of other hot drinks are also available, such as cappuccino or hot chocolate. In terms of reading material, The Times is usually available plus a TV showing BBC NEws. Staff are on hand to assist, such as finding out a train's platform before boarding is announced - I find Jimmy, in...
Last week, I had to go to Wolverhampton. It is now quicker to get there from Euston by getting the xx07 Liverpool and changing at Stafford for the Bournemouth. The total journey time was around 90 mins, compared to almost 2 hrs on the direct 1143 Voyager to Glasgow. I returned later via...
