There are plenty of GA stations from which you can get services to connect with the 9am sailing. I have used the overnight sailing to get to the Hague for 9am meetings which would not be possible with an early morning flight and the train/ferry is cheaper than an overnight stay and flight/train...
It is ironic that one factor leading to dismissal is bringing the company into disrepute. Not sure many people are aware that it's not TfL that runs London buses and the result of this hearing is more likely to bring Metroline into disrepute.
Wayve, Waymo and Baidu’s Apollo Go are all meant to pilot driverless taxis in London this year. Has anyone seen one on the road yet and/or know where they are garaged?
I think we all want reliable, comfortable, reasonably frequent and priced services. We also dont want our taxes to go up to pay for them. Normals expect more trains at busy times and no engineering works when they make long distance journeys, typically at times like Christmas and Easter...
Will be in Milan next month and have 10 days in 2 months 1st class pass that I want to get the most out of. Was expecting to be able to take a long break but that is not now possible so only have 10 days from Friday to the Sunday the week after when I have to be back in the UK. Ideally want to...
Having worked in consultancy on major projects I would agree that a lot of costs and delays are due to consultants having no incentive to deliver a minimum viable product in the shortest time frame. Many contracts are on a time and materials basis on low margins so money is made by having lots...
I would have thought applying for a criminal record check is the easiest way to do it. Given that many employers ask for one now it would be worth doing to make sure there are no surprises when going for a future job.
Is that allowed given it's not a leap year, and we are no longer under the influence of a full moon. Disappointed to see standards are slipping, I'm off to consult my learned friends at Chancery Lane for an expensive third opinion.
Leeds is a major regional employment centre, most of those trips are made by residents of Skipton etc travelling to Leeds and Bradford rather than the other way round.
Leeds has six times the number of university students than Bradford which will also impact on the number of longer distance...
Assuming the ideas put forward under Shapp-Williams plan went ahead then we would have seen a move to TfL type operations across the network with fares and services set by GBR and delivered by private sector operators. Fares would likely have moved to single leg pricing as per LNER, zonal fares...
Get job hunting now, I saw redundancy coming but was still too slow in getting my act together, I was surprised how long it took from a job being advertised to actually hearing whether you were successful. If you haven't had a job interview recently, apply for jobs you are qualified for even if...
COVID only accelerated a trend that been in place for many years. Season ticket sales were declining and Thursday had already come the new Friday in terms of socialising after work. This was a concern in planning Crossrail 2 where it was being recognised that a lot of money was being asked for...
1984/5, the miners strike and the increasing deindustrialisation of the economy which saw freight traffic decline. Led to major drive to improve productivity eg flexible rostering dispute which probably didn't deliver the benefits hoped for.
VAR showed clearly that you were offside when accessing the platform at Pinner and hence North Harrow to avoid triggering a Line Reversal or a diagonal breach is the obvious solution
