Or when employing new members of staff the contract states that Sundays are part of the working week. It’s probably the only way of doing it surely cheaper?
I may be wrong but I’m pretty sure Southern services on the BML were a lot faster pre 2010. Cant remember exactly but it seem fast but probably less stops on the way to (East Croydon > Brighton).
And also, it hasn’t actually been explained to the public why two weeks was needed. As weekend blocks are usually sufficient to do the works. I’m hoping this means less engineering work over the course of the year now.
A depressing end to the year if you’re a traveller visiting friends and families. It would have been far better to do this in the early weeks of Jan or Feb rather that a two week block over Christmas. Especially when the Reading area was affected too.
I like PlusBus as not many people know about it or bother buying them. I find it incredibly satisfying paying £2.95 for a day bus ticket in Brighton and everyone else is paying a fiver!
