We had a great time. My friend from my car club days house backs onto the line near Loughborough, we was on a fish and chip train and he was in his garden with his little lad waving, I posted on FB we expect bunting on our wedding day and they didn’t disappoint!
I am biased but it is by far the...
@LowLevel I do always wonder how many folks are on here and working at the railway when we visit, we have been a few times now and love it.
@Flying Phil the Veranda car is amazing! It really made the day something special! You can’t beat trundling along with that view! And on the return leg my...
Back in Sept my wife and I got married at GCR and we would highly recommend it to anyone who’s considering getting hitched and has an interest in anything railway and vintage.
we had the ceremony in the gallery room, then the wedding breakfast on the veranda car which was brilliant. We had our...
The cost is silly now for long distance. There’s no advance fares for some routes making it a no brainer to use the car. My other half and I are off to London Sunday 21st Nov, coming back the next day from Market Harborough and it’s £72! No advance fares to be found at all and no chance of split...
No that’s not how it works. If you read the back of the bottle it tells you the concentrate. “Strong” ones can be up to 5 or even 7% but they are expensive. I purchased the strongest concentrate you can for domestic use to help control some bamboo… it has to be diluted to work and slows the...
Train split etc couldn’t cope with our trip for some reason, had to work it out ourselves… hopefully all sorted now and I know for future claims what to do too now
I ended up sending them a message via Facebook, thinking it would take ages for a reply…. 5 mins later what I was thinking of doing was confirmed as correct.
the gist was as you said add the 2 returns together for the total price and when it asks for the ticket to be uploaded have one photo /...
Thanks @Watershed i will be sticking my claim in today, had missed that but on the LNWR site

Just a quick one… anyone done delay repay on LNWR with split ticket? But one ticket as electronic and one as paper? It might be because I’m on the mobile version of the site but it asks if my...
I thought it was 100% back for that leg… ie £10 return… outbound delayed by more than 1hr 100% of that leg back so £5? If it’s 100% of the full lot then easy peasy and I’ve miss read it. I wasn’t trying to claim back more than I paid at all, I just wanted to make sure I could
Claim back what I...
In light of the GA thread I am just checking I have this right….. reading this post https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/delay-repay-applies-to-the-journey-regardless-of-number-of-tickets-held-mythbuster.198338/ it seems that I can claim for the full journey? We was caught up in the southern...
Well back at Euston and it’s fun! Nothing happening at all, went and asked about what we should do and got told just winging it on an Avanti to Rugby! This is to get back to Nuneaton.
min NR page it says we can use EMR to Leicester so tempted to do that and then XC to Nuneaton! - scrap that...
Euston was rather odd, quieter than I have ever seen it but not been down since Cv kicked off, however wasn’t too quiet when our 12 coach train which was the first through for 5 hours apparently unloaded
The speed felt like we was going 200mph compared to sat still got the fun of trying to get back north later on too… hoping we don’t end up on Avanti as other half doesn’t cope well with the tilting and small windows, makes her very green!
We got on 1U30 at Nuneaton at 13:35, the new guard got on at Rugby who had the sense of humour, he at least made it slightly less painful… however after we changed at MKC for 2Z40 it’s been painful! The trains full but not quite standing room only, and it’s 2+3 seating which is making it fun...
Finally seen one come north, an Avanti. Not seen anything north for a little while and we are now on the move south finally…fingers crossed (just seen a freight going north through the station too).
Anyone else having fun with the southern WCML today? Been sat for 40 mins between Bletchley and Leighton buzzard. (Just started moving now). It’s been a fun day as should have been in London and back out the other side by now… we had a Cl56 with a 720 attached for company while waiting.
what’s...
It would have been the valve seats, the lead helped protect them as we had the same issue in the classics mini world. (I ran an additive in mine to try and replace the lead seemed to sort of work but the best fix for earlier cars was new hardened valve seats to be fitted)
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
