I didn't know these were a thing! I don't recall ever seeing these in South Yorkshire. An earlier post alluded to some West Yorkshire stations having them. I don't recall seeing them in the late 90s/early 2000s, maybe they disappeared long before this?
A 15 minute frequency would be an amazing improvement over the hourly (in)-frequency my bus route has! I always look at the vast number of 52s and 120s and think how amazing it would be if the 57 ran like that!
In the early 2000s there were no expresses via Barnsley. There were two stoppers; one went from Sheffield to Leeds via Castleford, the other from Sheffield to Wakefield Kirkgate. Things certainly have improved!
Hard to police if the tram is conductor-less. XL bully dogs are illegal but I suspect people still walk around with them quite openly.
I personally wouldn't be that confident identifying dog breeds if I was the conductor on the tram, a dog's a dog to me.
Sheffield's transport system is a mess, totally run into the ground. I switched to car. I got fed up of missing buses, missing trams etc., long diversions around every estate. The car is quicker and easier. If they make it impossible to get into Sheffield by car, I'll go elsewhere, Barnsley or...
Sheffield to either Adwick/York/Cleethorpes would be fine with 2 car. Same goes for Doncaster to Scunthorpe.
The Penistone line outside of the peaks would be okay 2 car.
Everything else should be three car minimum... Nottingham/Lincoln/Scarborough for example.

I wasn't alluding to their success, more to the fact they were supposed to be a short term, stop gap. They turned out to be very long term. I would have preferred them fully refurbishing more of the better quality first gen DMUs (101s) and not bothering with the pacers at all.
I definitely travelled on 142s in this livery out of Sheffield to Manchester up until 2003. They also used to work Man Vic to Wakefield Westgate via Huddersfield and Kirkgate. Saw them many times at Huddersfield.
