EC Print at Home/Rewards tickets on other TOC services.

You would just carry on as normal, a agreement between EC control centre and NR control centre will have been made and the guard informed on the next connecting NR service to Hull to pass EC only tickets.

    EC Summer First upgrade

The brief sent out to staff was any ticket so yes can't see a problem with a rewards ticket.

    EC Summer First upgrade

It is still running however it is strictly at the guards discretion, they will make a call based on how many spare seats are in first and after consulting with the catering crew leader if there is sufficient food on board. Due to staff feedback the offer is no longer available on peak time...

    Thomson Airways B767-300 Scheduling

G-TUIE had run into problems a few days before the emergency landing in the Azures, on 30 July on a flight from East Midlands to Cancun, it was 3 hours into its journey when it turned back and landed in Manchester due to technical problems. Wonder if the problems were related.

Worries over changes to Scarborough's train services

I suppose if they did it that way platforms 7 and 14 could be used at Leeds, they get little use at the moment. Could actually free some platform space up

Leeds to London not via Wakefiekd

The Saturday morning Skipton service still does operate this route. I believe it was the Harrogate service back in GNER days.

The Kings Cross hologram-a new form of torture

    East Coast air-con failures

Staff are told NOT to open vestibule doors in the event of an air con failure as it can result in the failure of the adjacent carriage as well. Believe it or not, all the air con units had a overhaul on both train types recently. In fact all the sets were completed by his time last year and as a...

    New Yorkshire Tiger 757 buses.

Travelled on one of these today, pretty impressive. Luggage space, decent leg room, free wifi and plug sockets. In a smart blue livery rather than the usual orange too. An increased frequency to every 20 mins also. Certainly a step in the right direction.

    Pullman Dining - weekends?

Even if FGW wanted to put travelling chef/Pullman on a Sunday, if Sunday is not currently part of the chefs/restaurant hosts roster then you are going to have a hell of a job convincing a union rep to put them in without some large incentives.

    East Coast catering changes

It was part of big cut in costs on catering staff and restructure of the catering offer, all through voluntary redundancy if I remember correctly. They did replace it with 'at seat dining' on selected trains which offered a good breakfast for 10 or 12 quid but the evening dishes were a bit of a...
