From left to right as I viewed the train, the coaches were 15302m 15002, 15301, 15101, 15001.
More to follow shortly.
Edit: Shown here right to left :-)
I spoke to two men who pulled-up in two fast cars. One had a big stick and for a moment I thought that Dad's Army Security Inc had called for backup. They were there to measure the depth of the couplings (hence big stick) presumably with a view to arranging a shunt to the test track yard.
I...
I just spent a half hour there dodging the solitary security man who thankfully spent most of the time sitting in his car. I think he's just there to prevent vandalism, so he didn't bother me at all.
It's not something I could judge as I normally only see trains in the UK from the platform...
By the way, that's Velim station in the background of 'Sleeper Velim 13'. They are parked parallel to the local up platform (not visible in any of the photos).
Well, that's the lot for tonight. Glad they seem to be going down well as the quality is not great (the James Bond 1960s spy mode again).
Ceske Drahy conspired against me and I almost gave up at Kolin on the way there when I missed the last connecting train of the night by a minute. I took a...
Actually, I don't drink the stuff, but it costs about 80p for half a litre of the strong stuff, whereas my coke costs about a quid!
I took these for my son George (if you're reading this - get to bed ) who was out here in July hoping to see them.
Might have some more - but a bit 'samey'.
Hand-held, poor light, 800 ISO, hence the poor, grainy quality. I guess the forum reduces the resolution during uploading too. I will get better photos in the daylight tomorrow.
Any requests for specific parts of the coaches tomorrow?
I went for a wee night sortie and took a few photos in the dark. Will go back tomorrow for more during daylight. They are still parked in the siding at Velim station, at the start of the spur to the test track.
I attach a photo here (don't know how to do the url thing) and will post more in a...
I'll try to remember to set my camera to '1960s James Bond' mode :)
Velim depot has high chainlink fences, with one or two 'no photography' signs just inside, facing outwards. Last time I was there a security man (wouldn't call him a 'guard') walked past as I was taking a photo of the sign...
I just saw them parked in a siding at Velim station from a passing train. Too dark here for any photos. The station is about a mile from the test centre (which is actually nearer Cerhenice station, in case anyone plans to visit). I might manage to get to Velim some time tomorrow, failing that...
Ah well, it looks like I picked the wrong weekend to come home to Scotland. I'll be back in CZ on Monday night and will try for photos on Wednesday. Hopefully they will be outside and not hidden away in one of the many sheds there.
New guy here, so keep me on track if I go astray :-)
I took a long look around the Velim depot and sheds today (from outside the fence) and could see no sign of a Class 73 or sleeper coaches.
I live about 15 miles from the depot and take a wander up there by train or bike occasionally. It...
