    DB SCHENKER private driver assessments.

DBS send out practice papers prior to you attending. I managed to attend within 5 weeks of asking, I received the trial tests within a couple of days of paying the fee. How long to practice? Pretty much until you are happy with what you are doing! Certain tests only benefit from being attempted...

5 years for assessment passed a standard?

Quoted for truth. I got sent home from Padders as I'd passed the tests earlier. Quite why I got invited down there is anyone's guess, but delighted to make it through to the next round.

First Great Western trainee train driver application form help!

I tend to spend at least half an hour each evening just reading through a few company web pages, that sort of thing. By the way, which depot did you apply to work at?

First Great Western trainee train driver application form help!

OK Paul, I don't have a list of the exact questions, but the topics were something along the lines of: Safety Working Alone Shift Work/How did you stay alert Example of a course/study work, and how was it assessed etc. Example of following rules and procedures Examples of communicating...

First Great Western Trainee drivers, Anyone heard back?

Already started brushing up on FGW & First Group facts etc. Looking forward to a trip down to Reading on the run up to Christmas. Feeling very positive for the first time in many a moon.

Phew, telephone call from HR today, through to the 'Manager's Interview', dates tbc.

    DB SCHENKER private driver assessments.

Posted this elsewhere, but worth repeating: Just had a word with Mandy at DB Schenker. She said that the only limit on assessments was if one were to fail twice, in which case one would not be permitted to take the tests again. If one did pass (and keep passing!) there is no theoretical limit...

Just had a word with Mandy at DB Schenker. She said that the only limit on assessments was if one were to fail twice, in which case one would not be permitted to take the tests again. If one did pass there is no theoretical limit as to how many times the test could be taken.

First Great Western Trainee drivers, Anyone heard back?

Practice stuff is identical to DB Schenker, apart from the name of the company on the cover sheet. There's only so many times one can do the same group bourdon test without knowing the 'answers'! Maybe the Manc/Paddington factor is why the tests are different? I asked (at the time) about the...

First Great Western Trainee drivers, Anyone heard back?

Thing is I don't think I'll get much choice - if I have to do all the tests then so be it. Not as though I can opt out of one's I don't 'need'. Still, will give Lisa a call first thing anyway, just out of curiosity. BTW, did you do your assessments down at Paddington too?

3000 applicants so far for TPE trainee dvr jobs!

Is ~3 months 'twixt interview and start date about par for the course, or does it vary massively?

First Great Western Trainee drivers, Anyone heard back?

Assumed when she said 3-4 hours I'd do the lot, which is odd. Hey ho, just going to practice everything really, apart from Mech Apt which was a bit of a doddle.

First Great Western Trainee drivers, Anyone heard back?

Cheers JC, glad to hear about Sheffield. Spoke to FGW HR today and the tests will take between 3 & 4 hours; assuming they will follow pretty much the same format as DBSchenker. Fingers crossed anyway, going to be long day! Slightly concerned that FGW haven't sent any joining instructions, I...

First Great Western Trainee drivers, Anyone heard back?

For what it's worth I applied for FGW back in July, or was it August - seems so long ago, and have been invited to attend the assessment tests at Paddington tomorrow.
