Thanks, I’m talking more the Southern routes than the Chatham. I would have thought the Victoria signalling on the Brighton would have been upgraded by now, so perhaps it’s something else. I understand these works need doing, we don’t want to end up like Amtrak’s Northeast Corrdor which is still...
Is it me, or has the frequency of line closures at the weekend increased over the past few years? It seems every weekend there’s sweeping blockades across the system. Here in South London it’s more of a pleasant surprise when my local lines are running normally on a weekend. It is very...
I know what you mean about that Electrostar layout.
I find that the class 374 Eustostars are a bit crap. You’ve got to be really careful when booking considering so many seats seem to line up with the wall. Also, the new SWR Arterio trains. Their seats make Azuma seats feel like your grandpa’s...
Having a Hornby class 155 Metro Train Sprinter and an ex-Metro Train Northern class 158 from my childhood, I've always had a soft spot for the brand. Shame they couldn't manage full electrification, 15 minute frequencies.
Is this platform 5/6 at Clapham junction? I remember a few years ago the platform was over-manned in its entirety by agency staff who would issue continuous pleading and chiding announcements telling people to stand behind the yellow line. It was completely bizzare. On an off topic, it seems...
Just boarded a 444, in the few minutes it’s taken to depart we’ve had:
Don’t abuse staff
See it say it sorted
Staff wear body worn cameras.
If they’re played at every stop, Imagine coming from Weymouth on this thing.

Edit: next stop 5 minutes later we have the see it say it sorted...
Was it? I remember London Recconections did an article on it about a decade ago. Wonder what a pre-Tramlink Wimbledon to Beckenham via Croydon service would have been like.
It would be useful to see the back of the Beckenham branch. 4 trains an hour to West Croydon, because I know we cannot have East Croydon, would’ve more useful. It’s a shame a terminating platform wasn’t kept for it at Crystal Palace so it could become a shuttle.
I did TPE first class the other day, the full English, whilst a bit too small, was hands down the best food catering I can remember on British railways. A huge difference from the weird Romanian croissant offered on East Midlands Trains. Not a “snack box” in sight
