Are the extensions to platforms 2 & 3 at Souhport complete yet? Seems to have been going on for months - first heard It was going to happen back in 2022 so the platforms could accommodate 2 x 4 car class 777's.

Thank you for the information. There is a SWR train at 0850 from Waterloo direct to Westbury & a 1750 as well. Both take about 2 hours. I need to corrrect the type of ticket I have. It is a SUPER off peak return. That shouldn't be a problem as its a Saturday? Its 'any permitted' route.

This notice appears on the GWR website under Engineering Works 17Feb - 23 Feb 2024 Saturday and Sunday - All weekend, buses will replace trains between Bath Spa and Westbury. A revised rail service will run between Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa.

Very poor service from Liverpool this morning. Both the 0843 and 0943 services cancelled giving a 3 hour gap and then the 1043 is predictably only 9 coaches. Looks like the 1543 and 1943 also cancelled.

It wasn't a great start to the new timetable on Monday (11 Dec) when it was decimated with 8 services from Liverpool to Birmingham being cancelled. 0933, 13.33, 1433, 1533, 1608, 1733, 1833 and 2133 Note the 4 Hour gap in services between 1233 and 1633 !!

Surely ALL these engineering works to extend platforms eg at Ormskirk & Southport ( and ALL other places needed ) ought to have been completed BEFORE the first trains were introduced. Common sense. They should have begun & completed all the work in 2022 ? Total incompetence.
