    Absolutely spot on. Think very carefully about leaving the safety of TOCs, Seniority still rules on freight.

    I would say your main concern is, how volatile freight is, you will be the junior man at the depot and the first out the door when redundancies come round again, which I'm sure they will.

    Saw a Freightliner loco today that actually had an adverted painted on the side of it, advertising vacancies for drivers and ground staff.

    LM77 Half the drivers at my depot are ex forces, so I would say TOCs look very favourably at applications from people such as yourself.
