They have been advertising for a while, along with DB Cargo and GBRf. Current lack of freight drivers across the board, plus looks like DB will be taking on trainees at some point this year.
They are starting a trainee driver course this year, but the vast majority are internal promotions.Hi
Any idea when they are looking at advertising for trainees? Do you know their views on people who have undergone laser eye surgery?
Thanks

I reckon they will do more trainee courses in the future as qualified drivers aren't exactly queuing up to join due to the extreme volatility of the Railfreight industry these days since the demise of power station coal traffic.
Sorry I've no idea about eye surgery.

Opportunities are limited to become a driver. If it's what you want to do then I would go for it. A lot easier to move as a qualified than it is to get on a trainee course. Is it best to stay clear of freight driving? Especially wannabe drivers?

Is it common for freight drivers to move to a TOC?
The same DB that made a huge number of its Drivers redundant not too long ago? The mind boggles.....its almost like it was all a clever plan to get everyone on the new contract without having to worry about existing staff kicking up too much of a fuss.
Very common.
