Was this during a cost of living crisis I wonder?
Regardless of what anyone earns or what job they do, to not have any kind of wage increase for close to half a decade is totally wrong
Comparing who earns what is all irrelevant, the fact remains that Train drivers under the control of the franchised Toc's haven't had a payrise in over 4 years, that is absolutely scandalous, can anyone who has commented on this thread who isn't a driver honestly tell me they they haven't had...
This is what we all want and Mark Harper could achieve it with one phone call and simply offer aslef the same no strings offer that has been offered to the RMT, it really is that simple.
I think that's the vote for the rmt offer you're referring to, aslef already have a strike mandate.

Aslef already has a mandate to strike with 2 weeks notice, so the Christmas period is definitely on the cards
"Without trying to be condescending, reading the grammar of some prospective drivers on this very forum and some of the comments made shows that education maybe hasn't featured highly in their lives"
No, not condescending at all!!
Not strictly true, they are advertising externally for qualified drivers at Lincoln and Boston. https://jobs.eastmidlandsrailway.co.uk/vacancies.aspx?cat=452
Not so long ago rumour had it Colas we’re going to buy DB, now the rumour is Colas are pulling out of freight alltogether. Freightliner buying DB? Really can’t see it, just another messroom bull****ter.
