I had a look around Lostock station today, three or four runs of cable ducting have been laid between the AT substation and the feeder point just past the north end of the station, but I can't see any cables at the end of the ducts or on the masts at the feeder point. Nor can I see any cables at...
I have just had a quick trip round the area, lots of orangemen at Lostock, the down line platform should get finished tonight, but the up line platform will be a push. The wiring gangs are still working on the fixings, but there were some missing registration arms and some with parts missing...
The wiring goes just past the footbridge to join up to the existing. They have just started on the up line from the station to the footbridge. Presumably they will work from where they finished on the up line yesterday back to the station next.
Down line wired through Lostock station from the feeder point where they stopped yesterday, a few registration arms are missing and the wires are on slings at those points. The wiring roadrailers are parked on the down line near the feeder, but no-one on board. The platform work is still on...
Going south, the up line is wired to a point between Weston St and Green Lane, it's not easy to get a view of where it ends. The down line is continuously wired to a point between Kearsley station and Clifton station.
Going North the up line is wired to about 100 metres past Blackshaw Lane...
There has been no extension at the west end, which is now completed, they are now up to the east end of the down line platform and have not started any extension so far. They should finish that by Thursday, so we will soon know.
I had a look later this afternoon, up and down lines have C&C as far as the auto-tensioners just past the flats at Blackshaw Lane.
The auto-transformer wire is still missing from the up line between Dean Clough and Mayor St.
There were teams of orangemen at Farnworth and between Dean Clough and Lostock yesterday doing final fixing of registration arms and swinging them out over the track. There is still a lot of wiring to do between Farnworth and Lostock but I can't see any paths for the wiring train to this area on...
At Lostock a trench was dug from the substation to the portal where the supply is connected to the OLE.
There are photos on the forum of the work done north of Lostock to take the cable under the track.
The AT wire is now installed on the down line from Moor Lane to Dean Clough, this makes AT and earth wires complete from Moor Lane to Lostock station.
The AT wire is also installed on the up line between Moor Lane and Mayor Street, when it is installed from Mayor Street to Dean Clough then the...
I have checked my previous photos, the platform has not been lengthened, the end is still level with the end of the northbound platform and you can see that the slope at the platform end is untouched, also it's still the same distance from the mast just past the end. They have only replaced the...
