I was at Villa Park for an FA cup semifinal sometimes in the mid 80s (vague due to old age fuddyduddyism) and needed to get back to home in Preston and was pleasantly surprised to find an 86 with a/c mk2s rolling in to Witton for New Street, it turned out to be an extension of the 18 something...
Note that the Stevenage to London Bridge leg appears to be a counted place reservation so the train specified must be taken (along with that from Grantham to Stevenage obviously).
In my case it is somewhat frustrating that I can't get an online planner to sell a ticket out Saturday back Sunday because there are no services down here on a Sunday but stopping short on the return occasionally means a cheaper ticket than two singles and works as the 'short' station is only 4...
More specifically, on a site that allows change at and avoid points either of these would work:
1) change at Stratford, avoid Liverpool Street.
or
2) change at Stratford, max changes 2.
Only one piece so stretching it a bit but I did once take an IKEA Ivar side piece from Chafford Hundred to West Ham then to Stratford on the NLL and then Central line to Leyton and a 69 bus onwards.
It was 'only' 226 x 30 cm.

As the forum's site will offer an itinerary travelling via Liverpool Street, then going back to Stratford and on to Waterloo and also one just transferring at Stratford I don't see why not.
As it's an LNWR fare I assume it's an outboundary travel card from somewhere further afield.
In which case just use the return portion to alight at Bushey or Watford.
There appear to be advances available from the 1557 departure onwards. It is, I feel, unlikely though that advances are sold out on all earlier services so something else must be going on.

Just to let you know, I've switched to the forum site for all long distance journeys to Scotland as I've given up on Avanti recording journeys correctly for Club Avanti.
This is in addition to my existing use for local journeys.
