Train from stoke cancelled, so instead took cross country stoke to Stafford then waited half an hour for the London service ex-Manchester via Crewe, which is now crawling around tame bridge parkway et Al! I think Trent valley line must be shut? Noticed rrb doing the Stafford to rugby LNW too.
Just thoroughly enjoyed looking at google streetview for that and finding out it also used to be a safeway!

There were stores in Blackburn and Oldham too.
I'm trying to get this fare up on the forum's ticket site but can't. I did have it on the other day but didn't buy! It should be £25.95 return with a Railcard (super off peak). Please help!
Had an email from Avanti offering 75% off a single or return ticket for one journey for either one or two people. Valid for booking until 8 February and travel until the 22nd. Worth checking emails! No railcard discount on top.
I am 99% sur quality street and roses tins were around £10 in the 1990s, even into the 00s, so despite them being 1.2kg were actullj a lot more expensive. Atone point they shrunk a lot in size, but also went down to £5 in supermarkets on offer, perhaps creating more of a mass market for them...
I'm on a train from Euston to Milton Keynes and Northampton that set off about 1950. I'm wanting to get to Stoke om Trent and was due to get the 1924 to rugby then change and go to Birmingham international and then cross country from there to Stoke. It's all chaos with everything cancelled. I...
Big news for Manchester to Stoke. New 2246 Northern service on weekdays from December. This is a change to the current 2218 last train . Makes it more likely to see the end of theatre shows / gigs!
The 2314 to Macclesfield from Manchester is only when the 2218 last train has been cancelled - it's a replacement for it. It also connects to an RRB to Stoke at Macclesfield. It really is a joke and upsetting the last train to Stoke and Macclesfield is so ridiculously early!
I've got York to Newcastle in 1st class on LNER for £1.75, using £5 off as a new sign up on LNER app and a Railcard!!! Looking forward to a hot meal, booze and 2 first class lounges, one of which I've never been in!
Anyone else think the reason Stoke's arrivals from major nearby cities finish early is because the last arrival of the whole day is at 2357 (from London)? However, it still means trains from Brum and Manchester could leave quite a bit later than they do, at around 11pm, which would be so much...
I think it’s really poor that the last service from Manchester to stoke on Trent is 2218 on weekdays and 2143 on Saturdays, not late enough for gigs and barely for most theatre shows. Considering stoke is pretty dire for entertainment options, its fast connections to Manchester really are its...
