Derbyshire Wayfarer tickets available on train??

I've been sold one on a Hope Valley stopper before, and it was accepted on High Peak and Stagecoach buses.

    Stockport Tram-Train Strategy Report

There is a decent chance it may come under Labour control, come May, so that may change the stance.

Petition to commission new study into re-opening Matlock to Buxton

If I recall rightly, you cannot use a Greater Manchester Wayfarer on Transpeak services so I can imagine trying to combine rail to Buxton with an onwards TP service to Matlock, would be quite expensive.

Petition to commission new study into re-opening Matlock to Buxton

I's a total of 5 services per day from Manchester - first at 09.15 and last at 19.05 according to the timetable I found.

    Manchester Wayfarer a few questions

Shops with Paypoint terminals can sell them, but can only issue them for travel on the day of purchase.

10.14 Kings Cross - Cambridge is anything faster non-stop city to city?

City to city in the shortest time would be Manchester Victoria to Salford Central in about 3 minutes.

The tightest connection you have ever made at a train station

I used make a -1 connection at Stockport on a regular basis, coming off the all stations Stoke-Piccadilly to make the Buxton - Blackpool North (not calling at Heaton Chapel and Longsight). In main, helped by the 323's better deceleration over the 150. This then got me to platform 13 at...

    Reasonably priced long bus journeys

I believe you can travel the full length of the 184 route on a £4 Firstday ticket.

    GM Wayfarer

Evening peak restrictions do not apply to the Wayfarer so you are fine on the 17.03

    MKC - Droylesden & Return

You're looking about 20-25 minutes from Piccadilly with the ground literally 5 minutes walk from the Droylsden stop. Might be a bit of a nightmare if Man City are at home on the same day though.

Which stations should have a direct service to Manchester Airport?

As the Denton junction on the M60 is one of the worst congestion points on the motorway, surely there is a case for a Denton-Airport service.

Sheffield to Man Airport - Sun 31st Aug

I would play safe and go for 1255. I flew in short haul, last week, hand luggage only and no passport queues and was at the station within 30 minutes. A transatlantic flight will likely be slower to disembark and I'm guessing you'll have luggage to collect so 50 minutes may be over ambitious.

Sheffield to Man Airport - Sun 31st Aug

The Airport Advance has replaced the Airport Getaway ticket. It is a single fare train ticket with the same terms and conditions as Advance tickets. Although the ticket is train specific, as a concession, journeys starting at Manchester Airport and Liverpool John Lennon Airport can be made up to...

Thanks for the tip on EMT, I'll keep checking the fares on a daily basis until they're released.

Stalybridge to Folkestone 19th April 2014

Good Morning Looking to see if anyone can help me with a decent fare for this journey, have already sorted return travel for the day after but looks like engineering work on the WMCL for that day and no decent fares showing from Manchester. The best fare I've found so far is £49.50...

TPE kicks woman and child off train

I have a bit of experience of Financial Ombudsman complaints, AFAIK they charge the company who is the subject of the complaint a flat fee regardless of the final outcome. From experience, they tended to lean more towards the consumer in terms of decisions but would make sure a client had...
