"Rip Off Britain" and Virgin Trains

If they had an annual family travel insurance policy, that would cover exactly this sort of instance. I'm not Virgin's biggest fan but they are definitely not in the wrong here.

I wonder where the pickup point is for Middlewood, I'm assuming on the A6 in order to keep to the published times.

    Trans Pennine Rail Ale Trains

I'm not sure if you're getting confused with FC United of Manchester who were ground sharing with Stalybridge Celtic last year. FC United have moved to their own ground in Moston, and Stalybridge Celtic games generally draw much smaller crowds. For the record Stalybridge Celtic's ground...

Minor bus accident - compensation claims...

I have enjoyed an entertaining story from a fleet manager about a Toyota that got a minor tap in the rear and magically reinvented itself as 10 year younger Audi during the claims process. Managed to spin out the dialogue for a few months before finally revealing to the claimant that they had...

    Interesting Manchester bus routes

The 354 from Ashton to Denshaw is a nice rural route, which takes in Mossley, Greenfield, Uppermill, Delph & Denshaw. If you're after a rarity & rural - try this one from Glossop on Saturday or Sunday - https://www.wymetro.com/uploadedFiles/WYMetro/Content/BusTravel/bustimetables/951_2013.pdf

    Five hours no toilets!

I've been on a Northern S&C service before for the same problem and the train made an extended stop at Skipton to allow the passengers to use the facilities. A delay is better than the alternative.
