I think not. These trains stopping at Wigan, would have to use Platform 1,which only takes 8/9 coaches. Much easier and quicker to go down the main line and then across Chat Moss.

Please note this unusual tour using one of the new 350/4 on a run from Manchester to Glasgow. The return journey is non stop ,hoping to create a speed record between the two cities. All the money from the tour is going to the Railway Children Charity.

Try the 06:08 XC off Bristol to Plymouth every Saturday which takes the route to Westbury and on to Taunton for route knowledge. Clearly it is paying off at the moment. Alert passengers might be confused by this route in the light summer days !
For those to wanting to travel on the eastern end of this line over flyover and down to Swanbourne sidings see Pathfinders rail tours trip on 29/3/2014. Unfortunately the timings suggest some part of the journey might be in the dark.:)
