Glasgow - Stranraer services under threat of possible closure

I would agree that this is a good development perhaps the 1730 (ferry not HSS) departure should become foot passenger friendly and become a rail connected service albeit Grand Central operated! --- old post above --- --- new post below --- As I said in a previous post the 1730 Stena Caledonia...

    Airdrie-Bathgate service

Central and Queen Street stations are usually good for getting the new timetables but not this year!

    380 in Britain NOW!

I made a mistake! I meant to say route learning duties on the Airdrie to Bathgate Line rather than running trains on the Argyle Line and why aren't they putting class 320 units on Argyle Line services to get themselves familiarised with the route?

    Airdrie-Bathgate service

I managed to get some of the Scotrail timetables in Queen Street for West Highland,Edinburgh/Glasgow to Inverness/Wick/Kyle of Lochalsh,Fife Circle etc although not North/South Clyde and got a Crosscountry and an East Coast although no Virgin or Transpennine or Scotrail South West!

    380 in Britain NOW!

But surely some class 320 units will be cascaded to the Argyle Line as was promised? Moving on,I saw at least a few 6 car class 334 units on the Argyle Line yesterday formed of 2 ,3 car units when in my opinion they should have been on route learning duties on the Argyle Line!

    West Highland why only 156's?

That's what I was trying to find out,did the class 150 prototype unit when on runs to Wick/Kyle/Aberdeen from Inverness have a trolley service considering when the class 156 units ran on these lines they had a trolley service?

    West Highland why only 156's?

Did these units ever carry a trolley service when they operated certain services on the West Highland route and when they did Inverness to Aberdeen/Wick/Kyle services?

    West Highland why only 156's?

Is it true that class 150 dmus once briefly ran some services on the West Highland line and did they ever have a trolley service for the journeys?

    Couple of questions

I also meant to add that the present 41 minutes Milngavie to Lanark via Bellshill and Shieldmuir arriving Lanark at 59 minutes past the hour would remain on the timetable. As well as this the 2241 Milngavie to Motherwell via Bellshill would extend to Lanark arriving at 2359,lets face it whenever...

    Worst Improvement?

The people of Carlisle,Penrith,Oxenholme,Lancaster,Preston,Wigan and Warrington losing direct trains to the South East and South West of England is not an improvement!

    Leeds - Morecambe service

Why not use a class 156 or 158 dmu on this route it would be more comfortable than a pacer!

Grand Central submits Blackpool-London Euston to ORR for 2012

Let Virgin protest! After all they can't complain about other companies using their routes when they themselves withdrew through trains between Blackpool and London and Cumbria/Lancashire and the South East/South West of England!

    Couple of questions

Would you agree that 2 trains per hour from Lanark to Glasgow on a Sunday would be a good idea as it would cut down waiting time for next train if you miss the first one? Here are my ideas 1) 06 minutes past the hour Motherwell to Milngavie via Bellshill services will start at Lanark at 42...

    380 in Britain NOW!

The question is relevant to the topic considering class 334 units will be cascaded from the Ayrshire Coast,Inverclyde and Argyle Lines to the Airdrie to Bathgate route to make way for class 380 units. So there!!!!!

    Couple of questions

If Scotrail hadn't reintroduced services from Lanark to Glasgow via Hamilton and Holytown would the present 50 minutes past the hour Motherwell to Milngavie via Blantyre service been an hourly 40 minutes past the hour Coatbridge Central to Milnagavie service?

    380 in Britain NOW!

Considering the first day of the new timetable is 12 th December do you think that will be the day that the class 320 units will start operating on the Argyle line?

    Why does everybody hate XC?

Crosscountry should bring back the buffet car as a trolley is just not adequte on journey lasting more than 2 hours eg. Aberdeen to Penzance,Glasgow to Plymouth,Glasgow to Newquay,Aberdeen to Plymouth!
