Any facts to support that ?
I've been on a number of Yutongs, they're often way better than ADL or Wright products.
We really do need to up our standards.
.
It must be high time that Wellglade decided what to do with the X38. It really didn't need such a frequency increase. Just agree with Arriva that, in future, they'll operate their share of the route 'properly' - it's giving Wellglade ongoing vehicle and driver problems.
Much of all that is totally unnecessary and breaks up long term routes, for no real benefit.
Not to forget that Brighton & Hove is a major, award winning, bus operator across the country. The passenger loads on board would amaze most other operators.
In short, no need to alter what is already a...
As others have said, the Yutong E9 would be ideal for the Sprint. The ones with Centrebus at Leicester seem to be very popular and reliable. It would be nice to dream about a similar product made in the UK but both ADL and Wright seem sadly lacking.
So.....
Is the end result that Megabus will, in future, just be on the long distance Anglo-Scottish runs ?
Flixbus seems to be expanding very quickly (rather as expected) and I wonder if Megabus will exist at all before long.
No, I'm not - apart from which I don't feel the same when I travel in many other countries. Why are Swiss trains clearly recognised as being about the best you can get ??
They are doing that because a good many can't drive, many will use the train just for the longer trips, and most trains aren't that busy out of peak commuting times.
I guess that most people who have any other option will, nowadays, tend to avoid the trains. Obvious exceptions may be long distance trips or going into London.
I'm expecting Arriva to usually win over more passengers. They have a better terminus in Derby and I'm sure some regular passengers will remember just how poor TrentBarton were on the X38 - which led directly to Arriva deciding to take on all 4 workings at that time.
