    if you're on about the bay platform it's way to short for a HST / 180. you'd be lucky to get a 4 car unit in there. though i suspect the 20 min dwell time is in between the northern services. IIRR the freight normally use the unused platform side so there should be no issue...

    Cheers mate, is one of the better spots with the old style wooden fencing not the new 8 foot metal stuff thats further down the line, plus the kids like it there to have a run about. I would say that you are no more than 20ft from the tracks so you can get good veiws up towards greatham and back...
