Regular Thameslink disruptions over a week

I agree, it does seem to be a slow slide of deteration of late , whether this is connected to the oncoming winter weather I do not know.

Regular Thameslink disruptions over a week

They regularly cut anything on the Cambridge line if there is disruption in the core. Many a time at the display at London Bridge services are shown as delayed except Cambridge which has a big blank. If I can I get a train to Peterborough,if running, and intercept a GN train from Kings Cross...

The Labour Party under Andy Burnham

All this making it more complicated, more bureaucratic, more expensive for landlords mean a lot of them will leave the market and sell up, decreasing the rental market. Or am I missing something?

    Russia invades Ukraine

Problem is if you remove the F35's our 2 aircraft carriers are a waste of space and revert to helicopters, as the F35's are the only fixed wing that can fly off them.

    Thoughts on the Trump presidency

Surely any slight dementia or decline would be picked up quickly by his copious Doctors following him about? Although if they know about it and don't tell it's not new as Kennedy's doctors kept it quiet about his Addington's disease while he was in office.

How would you spend £1Bn to improve rail transport in the SW peninsular

I was talking about the bridge removed just after the" new" Gunnislake station.

How would you spend £1Bn to improve rail transport in the SW peninsular

The station was moved at some point (1990's?) from one side of a road bridge to the other. The bridge with low clearance was demolished and ( I think) the embankment sides cut back. This meant bigger headroom stuff could go under where the bridge was once more safely. These changes mean that it...

Should we have a universal ID card?

Why should I have to show an id card in demand? Why. What is the benefit to me?

How would you spend £1Bn to improve rail transport in the SW peninsular

The bridge (headroom) or lack of if the bridge was put back just after the station could be problematic.

How would you spend £1Bn to improve rail transport in the SW peninsular

Exmouth Exeter, especially with " new" stations New court etc is really at capacity and no further gains can be made without infrastructure changes. I would extend the double track and move the signal to allow track through ( and a little way beyond) the former down platform at Polsloe Bridge...

Tavistock - Bere Alston Feasibility Study in jeopardy. But what could be done if the money was available?

They would probably consider the inland cutoff route, that was considered in the 1930's before " infilling" Bere Alston - Okehampton

Tavistock - Bere Alston Feasibility Study in jeopardy. But what could be done if the money was available?

I did hear that Sidmouth never wanted the railway, hence the station is up a hill about a mile outside the town supposedly to deter day trippers. Seaton could at a pinch have a rail connection quiet easily just by extending the tramway back to Seaton junction from it's existing terminal and...

There are tower blocks by the dozen which have sprung up all around Lewisham station over the last few years.

Lack of Cigarette Bins Outside Stations

People used to put bombs in any form of waste container/bin so they were all removed at some point ( IRA,ISIS etc.)

Cornwall is one of the poorer places in Europe and used to get quite a lot of EU grant money as a result when we were in.

Tavistock - Bere Alston Feasibility Study in jeopardy. But what could be done if the money was available?

I think it was discussed when the sea wall collapsed that Plymouth amongst cities of a similar size and " type" has only one through railway line to it/ through it. Exeter has 2 ( GWML & SWML) etc. In some aspects all the rail West of Exeter is a dead end branch ( with other dead end branches...
