Project Oval: TfL win DfT contract to expand contactless system to 233 rail stations by May 2024, Railcards coming to contactless payment cards

Can anyone report on whether the extravagant "no Oyster or contactless to Stansted Airport" signage at Liverpool St (and Tottenham Hale? was there ever such?) has been appropriately updated?

Which app is now best for changing Advance tickets?

So despite it saying at https://www.southernrailway.com/help-and-support/refunds-and-changing-your-ticket that You're saying if it's an uncollected paper ticket, the change is fee-free?

Which app is now best for changing Advance tickets?

The most recent app update (11 Feb 2026) has fixed one problem - now the app seems able to display all tickets, and correctly sorts them into Current and Expired. The ability to self-serve changes to Advances still seems to be broken though, whether you try via app or website. According to TfW...

TfL double charged daily cap - advice requested

And you're definitely sure that neither transaction is a Pending charge (which Monzo shows in almost exactly the same way as a settled charge) ?

Which app is now best for changing Advance tickets?

Currently having the devil's own job trying to make an amendment on the TfW website (the app has its own problems in that it only shows 5 journeys in the 'Wallet', however many there are...) Firefox, Chrome, Edge, all fail, server error 422 Unprocessable Content. Maybe it will work tomorrow...

    Contactless Fare TFL / GWR

The back end software does what it's been told to. It hasn't been told to break OSIs to give a cheaper fare. Obviously it could be told to do that, so it's as "possible" as anything else that can be accurately and precisely specified. It could also be told to break OSIs over a peak/offpeak...

    Question about fares from Cheshunt

Well, there's zone 8 and there's zone 8. MikeWh's site has this extremely well covered here. In particular note that Cheshunt is on the 'NR lines charged at TfL Ang scale' but Bushey and Watford are on 'TfL-Eus', and Chalfont is on TfL-LU

    Fratton vs Portsmouth & Southsea

I mean, being uncharitable you could say that about pretty much all of Portsea Island :p

Project Oval: TfL win DfT contract to expand contactless system to 233 rail stations by May 2024, Railcards coming to contactless payment cards

I'm pretty sure it's a different arrangement from the sale of conventional tickets, but I don't know the details of precisely how it differs, sorry.

Project Oval: TfL win DfT contract to expand contactless system to 233 rail stations by May 2024, Railcards coming to contactless payment cards

As with the preexisting CPAY and Oyster area, TfL collect all the money, work out how much of it should go to TfL and/or NR, and send the NR portion to RSP, who sort out the TOC bit. This is a very high level view - naturally the details are quite complicated In this respect Oval is no...

Project Oval: TfL win DfT contract to expand contactless system to 233 rail stations by May 2024, Railcards coming to contactless payment cards

What I'm really driving at is where does this idea of 'right' or 'wrong' come from? These are the fares that GTR have set - are we saying they've not set the fares they 'meant' to?

Project Oval: TfL win DfT contract to expand contactless system to 233 rail stations by May 2024, Railcards coming to contactless payment cards

Which fare(s) on single fare finder are 'incorrect' (and in what sense are they incorrect) ?

London Bridge : Train hit buffers 13/12/24

I have the same question, and this: doesn't clear anything up for me. He was arrested for what, deliberately falling asleep??

Project Oval: TfL win DfT contract to expand contactless system to 233 rail stations by May 2024, Railcards coming to contactless payment cards

Not really 'according to The Standard'; they're quoting the RDG press release (as seen in post 1910). Standard's not really in the business of original journalism these days, some might say...

Regulated Rail fares in England frozen until March 2027

Is there anything in a data file to say whether a particular fare is regulated or not? I'm guessing it's a no, since I can't see anything relevant on (for example) BRFares

    Cross country amend ticket issue

As it happens, just two days I needed to amend two Advances booked on the old site. I phoned them up on 03447369123, went through the phone menu, gave my old transaction id (the 9-10 digit thing) and email address, and it was all sorted out. Took five minutes. So looks like the experience is...

Project Oval: TfL win DfT contract to expand contactless system to 233 rail stations by May 2024, Railcards coming to contactless payment cards

Text saying "Over 50 stations" followed by a list of exactly 50 stations might be my new most favourite thing about this whole project :D
