I believe to fully integrate the services and give potential passengers the chance of making onward journeys the T8 should be extended to Machynlleth, possibly by integrating into it the X85. Passengers could then travel from Wrexham to Machynlleth and change to a T2 for onward journeys.
Delivered within the last hour are two brand new ADL Enviro MMC double deckers to Lloyds Coaches for operation of the X28 service. The are registered LC61/62 WYN taking the registrations of the two current deckers which are to be sold. The new vehicles will enter service this week.
Yes you are correct I'd forgotten about First keeping a couple of vehicles at Penrhyncoch and utilising MWT drivers. Going off on another tangent has the Traws Cymru network reached it's zenith yet or are there any more planned services to start up, I remember some time ago talk of a T8?
Would it be feasible for First & MWT to operate a joint service, although the down side would be "a Lloyds/Express Dolgellau" situation with passengers swapping vehicles half way.
Does anyone know when Lloyd's will take delivery of their two Metro City's and whether or not the 3rd vehicle, presumably one of the two Solo SR's will receive Traws Cymru livery?
I think the above looks very credible, I would assume buses 1 & 2 would be the two new Metro City's whilst bus 3 would be one of the Optare Solo SR's presumably if this is repainted into Traws Cymru livery it will be the first small vehicle in this livery. Nothing from Lloyds registered on VOSA yet?
There appears to be some odd workings, the 07.30 Mach to Bangor doesn't seem to come back until 15.25 Bangor to Aberystwyth, finishing the day as an 18.45 X28 Aber to Mach. They also finish very late on a Sunday in Bangor so probably return as Private, dead mileage?
It seems that there could be a lot of last minute tinkering and compromising aka November 2014. It would seem that Lloyds especially after ordering 2 Metro City vehicles will be operating the lions share of the route. I cannot envisage though how they will overcome the amount of dead mileage...
Have you seen the new timetable, be interesting to see how much dead mileage Lloyds have, for instance who will work the 15.25 from Bangor to Doll returning back to Bangor for 19.37
Sorry, I know this isn't part of this thread but since last Tuesday I haven't seen any new registrations on VOSA. Does anyone know if the site is down for maintenance or they have changed the format?
Thanks
With Lloyds ordering two Metro City vehicles it would appear that they could be taking a larger share of the T2 timetable At present they have one Versa and one SR Solo working all day with a second SR Solo doing occasional journeys. If they therefore retain what they have but acquire extra...
Forgive me if I am wrong but didn't Express run the 38 from Barmouth to Doll commercially, if so it probably wasn't viable to continue on that basis. Whether in view of the cutbacks threatened on local services Gwynedd will put it out to tender is an unknown. Certainly if they did I would...
Does anyone know if Gwynedd have awarded the contract to operators yet for the T2 service which starts in November. Also has the timetable previously shown on this forum by Bwsbro been revised at all?
There really is no need to be so rude, my observation was as you say taken from Notices and Proceedings which is based on fact only. My need for more information was the reason I posted, perhaps in future you could be more tactful, we don't all seem to have your intimate knowledge, having said...
The submission date for the T2 services was the 31st July, has anyone heard anything yet as to who has prevailed?
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Having withdrawn their 750 service, Bryans Coaches are now to withdraw their 701 service from October 1st, one can only assume that...
The T2 service is again up for re-tender and the question of livery could well be a part of securing the service by Express and Lloyds if the contract is for more than the previous one year deal. If that is the case it would mean both companies either buying new vehicles or repainting two each...
