The Trans Pennine Express website states that you can accrue 2 nectar points for every £1 spent on train tickets on its website ; do these have to be 'TPE Only' tickets or can they be for tickets for any journey on any other TOC ?
The Scottish school summer holidays would have started so Advance tickets may have sold out some time back. I bought some Glasgow - Oban Advances for the last weekend in July , this was many weeks ago as soon as they were released, even then there was extremely limited availability.
I'm being quoted £36.95 from Trainsplit via Manchester .
Twitter Update from their staff :
Advance fares and reservations are due to open from 20th May. Please note that there may only be a select few advance fares available due to the engineering works taking place.
I'm unsure as to how...
I need to travel from the West Midlands to Glasgow on Sat 27th July and was debating whether to buy tickets now using a combo of XC and TPE ( while cheap tickets are still available) or perhaps gambling and waiting for the release of Virgin WC Advances from Birmingham New St or Crewe ?
It has been quoted on the National Rail Enquiries page that reservations are closed from 24 July to 4 August as a result of engineering work in the Warrington area. Does this also mean that no Adavnces will be issued between stations on this stretch of line or that the actual timing of the...
Greetings,
Ive tried on several occasions and also using different TOC websites to purchase a Birmingham New St to Liverpool Lime Street or Manchester Piccadilly Advance "Virgin Trains Only" ticket which obviously means changing at Crewe. The only option one is offered is a direct West...
Cheap evening advances (after 1900) between Birmingham and High Wycombe / London are available for travel on Monday 6th Aug and Friday 10th Aug but not on Tues 7th, Wed 8th or Thurs 9th Aug. Is there any particular reason for this ? Seems odd.
Thanks.
I have to be in Glasgow on the afternoon of Saturday 28th July. Unfortunately, the National Rail Enquiries website states that the line between Glasgow and Motherwell will be closed on the 28th and 29th of July. If this is the case what will be the possibility of Advances being sold between...
For those who are interested I saw 43002 Sir Kenneth Grange ( Intercity 125 Blue/Yellow livery ) on a working through Beaconsfield yesterday (Saturday) , however, I am unsure if it is out on duty today.
I have some e-vouchers in my VTEC online account and they are valid until Dec 2018. Will these expire if there is a change in franchisee within the next few months ?
As there is the threat of strike action by RMT on XC over the Christmas period I was thinking of using West Midland trains from New St to Crewe, Virgin/Northern/Arriva from Crewe to Manchester and finally TPE from Manchester to York. Would just like confirmation that I can travel via Crewe. The...
If I have an Off Peak Day Return ticket with restriction code CH will I be permitted to break my journey in either direction ? Neither BRfares or the National Rail "Ticket and Validity Finder" mention BoJs when queried so can I assume BoJ is allowed ?
I plan to travel from A to C via B, buying a Network card discounted A-C ticket. A friend is meeting me at B so can I buy her a discounted B-C ticket on my card provided we travel together or will I have to purchase an A-C ticket for her too ?
Thanks.
If you don't mind spending a little longer on your journey then XC Advance from Manchester to Birmingham New St ( via Wolverhampton) and then Chiltern from Birmingham Moor St. to Marylebone. Could be done for under £25 return.
Great news ! Plan to travel outbound via Manchester and return via Sheffield. It's a shame that I cannot travel Birmingham - Sheffield - Manchester - York as the Hope Valley line is particularly scenic.
Hi,
I'm planning to buy a BHM-YRK Off Peak Return and would like confirmation that the ticket is valid via Manchester Piccadilly and that I can break my journey there ( for lunch with friends) before continuing on to York using TPE. The various journey planners do allow for this route in...
