I think the train into Shrewsbury gets in at 10:18. I've certainly seen the 10:19 Crewe stopper there. So it's basically a half hourly service Shrewsbury - Chester then? That's useful (shame that can't be normal lol). I take it from what's said above all trains are 158 from Birmingham and 150...
!!!
I'm hoping to go to Chester on Saturday, is there any at a glance timetable for this? (Also yeah are any of them Mark 4, pr even 175s, or is it all 158/153 up there?
Thank you - I've done it, and it all worked fine :) Even the discount applied, and I see on its journey planner it automatically splits tickets for when that's cheaper which is useful :)
This is probably a stupid question but are Trainline Railcards the same as a normal one? I can still use the TfW app the same, that's where I have bought tickets before and I think I remember that Trainline charges extra fees for tickets compared with National Rail? Also can you pay for the...
Hi - I want to renew my Railcard (26-30) because it expires tomorrow. I paid for and stored my current Railcard with the Railcard app, but I want to take advantage of the 20% discount with Trainline. My question is can I just renew in the Trainline app or will I need to buy a complete new...
Sounds like they'd have been better off taking the HSTs like Scotland did. Does that mean there won't be a normal service (with the intended stock) on the mainline through Shrewsbury until the line is fully 197ed?
Well I went to Manchester, no Mark 4s around - but I was a bit surprised that both trains I used were 153s and in half an hour at Shrewsbury, all the way there and back, and 20 more minutes at Shrewsbury returning, I only saw one 175 right at the end! I thought they'd brought most of those back...
So ask the person at the ticket barrier? I'd be more likely to want to leave the station on the return connection because it's longer & fewer trains go through in the time.
Hi again, I don't know if this is the right forum but I guess it's a trip planning thing.
I'm going to Manchester on Tuesday from Newtown, on advance tickets - two singles, one each way. I have a 33 minute connection at Shrewsbury on the way in, and a 40 minute one on the way back - is it ok to...
Out of interest, when do 197s start to get to Shrewsbury services? Aren't they even due on my actual local line (the Cambrian) at some point, or are they keeping the 158s here because of the... interesting signalling we have?
Aha, thank you - crafty timetable misleading us like that! So those three are the weekday diagrams for Mark 4 then...ok :)
Are the new Merseyrail trains on the Chester line yet? If there's no new TFW trains usable yet I might go to Liverpool instead to see it all dressed up for Eurovision :)
Hi, I've been advised to ask this here - does anyone know which trains out of Shrewsbury towards Manchester or Chester at or around 10:20am on weekdays next week (25 April specifically) are Mark 4 or 197-run? And the same for trains arriving from these places before 17:30? Sorry for the detail...
Hi, I assume this is the right place to put this - does anyone know which trains out of Shrewsbury towards Manchester or Chester at or around 10:20am on weekdays next week (25 April specifically) are Mark 4 or 197-run? And the same for trains arriving from these places before 17:30? Sorry for...
Yeah that was the idea. 1.25MB per second is what, 75 per minute? So for an hour it's 4.5GB? That is a lot.
How much less is SD streaming, or indeed radio streaming? As you can tell this isn't something I've thought much about before! :)
