Wouldn't the plan for the ivanhoe line to terminate in the long disused or indeed if ever used bay platform? Also the long term plan is to terminate Birmingham Cross City north at Burton too so the current layout would need a major overhaul for this.

to be fair Andy Street, Westmids mayor is interested in greater connections to more places north than just Tamworth. For instance extending the cross city line to Burton and adding a couple of new stations along the route one of them a parkway at Alrewas.
