Court prosecution reopening - train notice of fine & collection order

Is it Luton Magistrates Court you're attending tomorrow? It'd be quite a way for them to make you travel if they weren't planning on attending and offering evidence. 1731359930 I fear you may be misunderstanding the CPIA 1996. The duty to disclose is limited to "prosecution material" which...

Southeastern Becoming Harder to Deal With?

Just had another case in and this time it seems Southeastern didn't even write asking for an explanation. They appear to be getting quite tough.

    MG11 southeastern rail

Unfortunately we are seeing this quite a bit from Southeastern at the moment – they are prosecuting a lot of cases where in the past an out of court settlement might have been offered. You should call them in the morning and follow up with a letter, asking to settle out-of-court.

Court Summons for October 30th - Advice needed

Please make a post of your own including all details and photos/scans of the paperwork you received. No two cases are exactly the same so it is requested that all individual cases go on their own thread.

Court prosecution reopening - train notice of fine & collection order

If they have no evidence then the trial will likely be very short and end in the case being dismissed.

Southeastern Becoming Harder to Deal With?

I have noticed the change although it seemed to me, initially at least, as though correspondence was being lost. There has also been a number of cases where the six-month limit was about to be hit. I think they are starting to see a lot more cases of blatant long term short-faring come through...

Can a rail company reopen a case that has already settled over 7 months ago

A prosecution under section 5 (3) cannot be commenced under the single justice procedure as it is an imprisonable offence. Does any of the paperwork you have received refer to the single justice procedure or is that just a term you have brought in yourself?

End of the line for Paris’ iconic metro ticket

It seems to me they will be moving people to Navigo Easy and away from cardboard tickets.

Impact of notice of fine and collection order

Sounds like practices are different at the different courts we frequent.

Result of court case - TFL fare evasion

For the reasons I set out at length in post 63, appealing is not the appropriate course of action. The defendant would be best advised to apply for remission of the fine on the grounds that the court was not informed of her (lack of) income when it heard the case. But if she does wish to...

Impact of notice of fine and collection order

This isn’t correct. Criminal fines do not appear on credit files. This also isn’t correct. An attachment of earnings or deduction from benefits order is the next step if bailiffs are unsuccessful. Arrest is several more steps away.

    MG11 help please

That isn’t how it works. Firstly “we” don’t plead guilty, only the defendant does. Secondly if the defendant pleads guilty, there will be a fine to pay, a surcharge of 40% of the fine, plus the costs and compensation. The typical fine for this offence on a guilty plea is two thirds of a week’s...

End of the line for Paris’ iconic metro ticket

One-way travel to or from Orly on Metro line 14 requires a €10.30 airport ticket (which is only supported on Navigo Easy and smartphones, no cardboard ticket). It's not valid with t+. I guess you could alight at Chevilly-Larue and take the tramway, though that's no easier than the already...

Will I get Criminal Conviction if I pay Penalty Fare Notice

A Penalty Fare Notice of £100 plus the amount of the unpaid fare (or £50 if paid promptly) is not a criminal conviction and if paid, will be the end of the matter as respects that incident. If you have previously done this on other occasions, the train company may investigate your purchase...

For the most part, railway staff are insulated from this by the unions, for non-safety related indiscretions anyway.

Court summon for fare evasion!! Please I need assistance

Indeed. And it's cheaper still to just tap in and out with a contactless payment card. Now, I would suggest you write again to Southeastern enclosing a copy of your last letter and asking whether they might not have received it. Stress that you would appreciate the opportunity to resolve this...

So you purchased a ticket from London Bridge to Crayford while inside London Bridge station, having travelled from London St Pancras? How did you get through the ticket barriers at London St Pancras?

    Help?

Due to the TfL hack, all Zip cards that expired this year are being accepted up to 31•DMR•24 by visual inspection at the gateline. There is no issue here of travelling with an expired card, only that the card was used beyond the geographical limit of its validity.

Court summon for fare evasion!! Please I need assistance

Your posts are extremely muddled so it's very hard to give you advice. Please answer all of these questions, using the same numbering, even if you think you've already given the answer. I am asking about the journey you were making at the time you were stopped and spoken to by Southeastern...
