On Thursday the 18:26 London Bridge to Reigate/Horsham apparently left the station some distance, stopped and then reversed back before leaving London Bridge again almost an hour late causing disruption all round. Any idea what happened?
I'm about to buy my annual Travelcard from Redhill to London All-zones. I travel via the underground and buses a lot so need a Travelcard portion.
As usual I've done a bit of research on the Redhill Fare which comes out at £3,352. After a bit of trial and error I found a ticket from Dorking...
In September 14 Southern have a few changes to services already announced on their website but in January 2015 there will need to be a major change in the timetable to London Bridge as all Thameslink trains are moved away via Elephant and Castle.
Very little information has yet come out about...
Boris in his ask Boris sessions today said "we are doing the first extension for 20 years on the Northern Line and stand by for some amazing news on the Bakerloo line"
Any idea what he (or more accurately TFL) is planning for the Bakerloo??
Flooding this time.
Seems to have been a nightmare in the BML for months. There has been continuous minor delays and twice weekly major faults. Some has been planned work, but is lack of investment or maintenance that generally has caused faults and problems. If so how do you sort it out.
I'm scheduled to buy my new annual travel card next week and it shows as £3,256.
I suspect as I travel via Victoria there is no alternatives that are cheaper, however if anyone knows better please let me know
Thanks
Services to Redhill have been cancelled most of the day and are just resuming since about an hour ago.
It seems some equipment caught fire just by platform 3 at around 6:30 this morning - apparently the fire was impressive.
Tonbridge line still closed for the rest of the day - anyone got...
I'm going to Chesterfield next Wednesday and am going to sample East Midlands on board for the first time. Haven't been on the Midland main line since they were powered by Peaks!!
I'll probably go up on either the 09:35 or 09:55 from St Pancras International and coming back late afternoon...
It seems Network Rail has given up running Gatwick Airport Station from yesterday and handed it to Southern. As Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink are all about to be merged it was sensible this happened...
Does anyone know what Network Rail and Southern are doing between Xmas and New Year that means all services between Redhill and Purley are suspended.
Of course I am working this year so my daily commute will be by Bus to Purley and then train to London :(
Hi
Wondering if anyone can help me. I have a London Terminals season ticket from Southern which enables me to get to my workplace at City Thameslink.
On occasion I am likely to transit at Farringdon from Circle Line services onto the Thameslink route. Obviously I have entered a Zone 1...
Article today about a high speed rail link from Heathrow to Gatwick in the daily Torygraph. Seems a good idea but does it need to be high speed or just a regular link along the North Downs line with a new chord at Redhill?
Thoughts...
I was looking at the London Bridge Station plans and a few questions came up regarding the terminus platforms.
Currently there are 9 platforms - 8 - 16.
Platform 8 will be lost with the new redevelopment as it is outside the main train shed.
I assume they would not be knocking down the...
I'm looking into a new season ticket to Central London from Redhill and trying to avoid the All zone travel card.
Options are either a Farringdon season ticket or a London Terminals. Would I be able to use the Farringdon ticket from London Bridge or Victoria like I can the Terminals version...
Article from BBC website http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-14292920
So the fastest way to London isn't. Not only is this service blocking 4 paths an hour to Victoria for virtually no passengers but it is not really an express...
All I can say is well done Southern - still running trains in appalling conditions, on complex junctions and on third rail. Absolutely Massive Effort Tonight!!
My journey home tonight took 4 and half hours (Dalston to Redhill) but I made it - even if the train got lost a few times.
Got to...
Just realised haven't seen any at London Bridge for ages (probably since early summer) or while travelling down to Redhill. The 17:57 LB to Brighton used to be 4x 377/3 every night but is now 3x377/4
I thought the 313's had taken over on Coastway. No sign of them at Selhurst or on South...
Southern had major issues this evening due to signal failure at East Croydon which isn't that newsworthy.
However the Driver on our train made an announcement that made me grin. Pulled up at the last signal before Redhill with a train almost 40 minutes late and then passed the message...
Working in Dalston I have followed the opening of the East London Line but I wondered how much is known about the North London Line when it opens rebuilt between Gospel Oak and Stratford.
I'm pretty sure Highbury and Canonbury stations will be on the Northern tracks on reopening instead of...
