Equipment Fire at Redhill

Services to Redhill have been cancelled most of the day and are just resuming since about an hour ago.

It seems some equipment caught fire just by platform 3 at around 6:30 this morning - apparently the fire was impressive.

Tonbridge line still closed for the rest of the day - anyone got further details?

It looks like the 0535 Reading to Gatwick Airport service was evacuated and terminated at Redhill because of the fire. From that time until lunchtime, it was all a bit chaotic, with very high numbers of cancellations all morning.

A friend informs me that both lines are now open between Redhill and Earlswood and the only significant delays on those appear to be due to congestion and out-of-place resources.

I am interested that buses have not only been running between Redhill & Tonbridge but also between Redhill & Nutfield (minibuses) as a sort of shuttle service.

I believe NR remain on site.
