    Service Engineer shifts and rosters?

I don’t think there was a late shift, it was both Ramsgate and Slade Green is looked at. The day was 0700-1700 or 0800-1800 of something like that.

    Service Engineer shifts and rosters?

I know SouthEastern have a particularly odd nightshift of 1830-0430 making it no good for people travelling by train. the reason I didn’t apply for a position there. 1632481757 And I’ve worked for three different TOC’s and two were an even split between days and nights and one was...

    Uncoupler isolation cock

Mostly used for maintenance tasks or if there has been impact damage and an air leak on the system then it would need isolating until repair.

Carmont (near Stonehaven) derailment - 12 August 2020

I appreciate what end the cab is/was. It was in response to somebody saying that the van end was the end on fire, not the cab. I’m suggesting that it looks like the cab end had also been on fire as the body would be blue if it hadn’t been burnt.

But isn’t the vehicle body that end grey and burnt whereas it should be First Group blue?

Conductor: Any chance with drink drive conviction?

Sorry but where does it state that it is an unspent conviction in the link you quoted? and under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, it IS spent. Can’t comment on DBS check but all the jobs I’ve looked into recently just ask of any unspent convictions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders...

Conductor: Any chance with drink drive conviction?

And don’t call if you don’t have to declare it on the whole job application.

Conductor: Any chance with drink drive conviction?

All they ask for you to declare is unspent convictions. Yours is spent so you don’t have to declare it. Check on the job application and then Google unspent convictions. You’ll be fine.

Have a look at Hitachi in Doncaster if that’s where you’re after work.

    Traction and rolling stock technician.

Different TOC’s, assuming it’s a TOC you want to join, have different names for roles. Is rolling stock systems technician a particular role you’ve heard of somewhere as I haven’t as such. What level are you hoping to enter at? Your qualifications will be fine for a general shop floor...

    Trainee train driver assessment day

My guess would be that the different scales used were so you took the time to check the numerical value it was pointing to. If they were all say 0-100 you could then guess which priority to look at them by the physical angle of the pointer. And I can’t be certain but pretty sure the scales...

    Trainee train driver assessment day

It was pretty similar to the practice material whereby priority is dictated by the colour the pointer was on. However, it had the addition that in the event there were two gauges with the pointer on the same colour, you then checked the numerical value that the pointer was on and the LOWEST then...

    Trainee train driver assessment day

I know. It's probably fair to say that due to the competition for each job, it could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to be invited to the assessment day. I know people have good reasons for deciding not go but 50% of those invited dropping out over the two days??

    Trainee train driver assessment day

Wow! I take it Dollands Moor then? There were 3 of us on Tuesday. 2 for Peterlee and me for Dollands. One of the Peterlee lads didn’t make it past the joysticks test and the other one got through to the MMI but don’t know how he got on. Just a waiting game now I guess.
