ROFL! What about where the "Overground" is partially underground such as Liverpool? Or as is the case in East London where the Overground is under the Underground line? How does the term translate into Welsh? I think there is much scope for confusion here :-)

I always attributed the slowdown to the Passengers Charter - trains were slowed down so they were "late" less often. I remember KGX to Grantham in 59 minutes, with one stop at Stevenage in the early days of the 91s

I can also recommend the Ibis in Basel - other side of the tracks from the station (about 5 mins walk), comfortable, helpful staff, reasonable breakfast and a free ticket for the tram into town thrown in!
