There *is* a published cut-off. How much earlier than that do you suggest I should arrive to allow for staff who can't read a clock or a timetable correctly?
I've had a tube barrier shut on me despite it giving me a green light. First point of contact was with my hand which was bent back quite forcefully (given that I was moving forward and the barrier snapped backwards). Could easily have been a nasty sprain or worse.
In a thread full of red herrings and tangents can anyone confirm the answer to the original question: is an on-train ticket seller correct to refuse to sell a ticket for a future journey?
And how does that differ from Mr Smith buying the same ticket online (or even from the booking office) and ignoring the restrictions? Meanwhile Mr Jones has to pay extra, or miss his train, just because you think RPI's job should be made easier.

Not very bright. I can't imagine too many staff have had their pass taken in such circumstances. He'll be fairly easy to identify should the powers that be wish to do so.
